Have you tried this swim bait?

If so what are your thoughts?

It is the Lucky Craft Real California 130 Premium

I had a couple of them, I didn't like them and sold them maybe 2 years ago. I just found better alternatives for roughly the same price.

Lucky Craft makes many high quality lures. This one, the 128 and the bullfish are all duds, in my opinion.

Are they soft bodied or hard?

What did you dislike?

They look really good online.

hard bodied. the action leaves a lot to be desired. it certainly caught my eye as well, then I got it and tried it.

Tackle Tour has done a couple of reviews on this bait.  The first version was poorly made and not durable at all.  I think Lucky Craft redesigned the bait and TT gave it a much higher grade the 2nd time around.  I believe both baits reviewed were the 130 size.  Like I said, I've never used one but it comes up on the swimbait forums every now and then and the consensus is always, "get a different bait."

Simply put, there are better baits.

I agree with Jrob, never heard anyone speak highly of them. For $30, I'd find a MS Slammer on sale.

What speed said. Slammers get bit.

I too thought about trying one until I read the reviews. It's a good looking bait but I'll stick with the proven baits, even if they cost a little more.

I tried the 110. Like everyone says, pretty mediocre action. I like the Spro BBZ series for hard bodies swim baits.

I have a couple of them JT, the truth is that I got them out of pure curiosity, got a Golden rainbow trout Amago and an American Shad, I´ve tried them a couple of times and the action is quite poor, didn´t catch anything on them and I only keep them because they are very pretty..

Absolutely.  My buddy had a BUNCH of these when they first came out.  They did catch, and the ones that did got mangled and fell apart. Even a Spro BBZ-1 Jr. would be a better investment, though I like the Slammer (or even Mini Slammer) idea better.
