I'm in the 320's now from close to 400# when I started. I lost 60# years ago riding a 78 husqvarna 390cr motocross dirtbike in 3 months. I hammered this bike or should I say it hammered me. Bike #1 vs human #0. Then I stopped riding for 10 years. The weight piled back on little by little. Now my doctor is screaming at me to get back on the dirtbike. If he only knew we are doing 100mph down the straights in 6th gear and still when I wick it the front wheel is in the air. The rush is like landing my 10# bass only slower and safer. Next I'll try the gym while looking for a 500cc motocross bike to build.

The dirtbike works every muscle group.

I started riding with my youngest son to keep him out of trouble and busy doing something. I was having him chase me for a while but then I was trying to catch him. In his first two hare scramble netra races he came in 11th on his first race of 40 racers and 6th in his second race. I knew the kid was fast but I didn't tell him. I just kept pushing him. My point is to quietly get involved with your son or daughter and ride to lose weight.

I have to hit the gym next I'm sure they will laugh at me. That's ok. I'll ride again in the spring. Right now 300# is my goal by spring. Getting to 250# is my goal for next year. It's very hard when your misses is a great cook. A smaller sized dish helps.

Since my 145# female rottie passed away, part of me died with her. She was an awesome partner. She could talk to you with her eyes. I been thinking of getting a rottie female pup and try giving her all the love I gave the first one to see if I can get another one who is friendly too. It would be more exercise too walking it. I'd have to wait for the two kittens I took in that no one wanted to get bigger so the pup doesn't chew on them. I may look for an adult rottie in a shelter first maybe.

Christmas time and my love for Chocolate Covered Cherries was rough on the old gut.

I have to work extra hard to get back in shape for fishing.

Funny how you can work so hard for so long and just a few weeks of bad habits can erase your results.

How are all of you doing?

I am about to start week 3 of p90x and have done pretty well so far with the diet and workouts but this weekend was a little bit of a drop off as far as diet goes...i tend to eat more carbs than i should on the weekend but during the week i limit them pretty well.  I am really looking forward to it warming up enough to get the ice off the road so i can get on my bike without fear of killing myself :)

My training is also going well. I still have another 20 pounds to shed to be as tight as A-Jay, but a man needs a goal to shoot for... :eyebrows:

I guess i am blessed in that weight loss isn't a primary goal of mine but rather just getting back in shape.  I could probably stand to lose about 10lbs but i would rather just keep working out and let it happen as my body adjusts....i know one thing though, and this happens abotu week 3 in every workout plan i do, is my metabolism kicks in like no other and i am always hungry.  THe other night i woke up at 4am with my stomach growling.  Guess it is time to get a caesin protein shake going before bed to help me sleep lol

I started the T25 workout tonight.

For those of you that have done Insanity, it is a lot different.

It is 25 minutes non-stop and it goes by really fast.

If I had to guess, I would say the fat loss probably won't be as fast but I still think it is going to be a good program.

I definitely think the completion rate will be higher than it was with Insanity because that stuff is just crazy.

I am on my last day of the rest week, which really means no resistance training, in the first 30 days of p90x and I am jonesing to get started again tomorrow....Haven't lost but a few pounds but that really wasn't my goal but i am definitely getting stronger and i am looking forward to the next 30 days.....now if i could just stop using the smoker i got for Christmas every weekend i might see even more gains :)

Hasn't been much action posted on here recently.  Hope very one's making it happen.

Since turning Fifty ~ I completed my Personal Best Triple this week.

(Dead Lift ~ Bench Press ~ Squat)

Didn't quite reach my goal but that just keeps me working.

Very Satisfied.

A-Jay I'm making progress also. I went to Mississippi with a couple of ultra marathon running friends last week. While they were running 50K, I ran/walked 20K. It was a trail run through creeks, mud holes, and assorted other obstacles. 12.4 miles was plenty for me. I finished with a better time than I expected and we had a great time. I am down to 195 and benching and dead lifting more than ever. I have a bad knee, so am very careful with squats-only doing lighter weight. I may not be as good as I once was, but I am better than I've been in years!

Keep up the good work A-Jay. When I grow up I want to be like you...physically anyway.  :eyebrows:

WTG ! and thanks for the kind words.

Hanging with super tuned humans can't help but rub off and its sounds like you're making happen.

There was never any doubt.

As for growing up; as a younger man I professed to never wanting to.

Well despite my best efforts, it happened a while back and to be honest ~ I'm glad.  So much less Drama.

Stay Safe & Train Smart

Beastly back day this afternoon. Time to sit down and eat enough food to feed a small village. :D

I remember those days - eating enough was like a job - a good one though.

btw - in one of your most recent pics - looks like you're doing right.

Thanks. So far so good. Only complaint is that I have to pound food down constantly to maintain weight right now. Body fat is melting away right now without any size or strength loss, thankfully. Slowly having to lower calories now that I'm not burning almost 10k a day at work. I'm going to miss just stuffing my face with whatever I wanted for a bit.

Well that will come in handy as you get a little further down "The Road"

Eric I remember those days when I could eat whatever I wanted and still stay strong and fit. Then I got lazy, old, and fat. Now I have to pay close attention to what I eat and make wise choices. Way to go getting healthy. It is a lot easier to stay that way than find your way back, esp as you get more seasoned.

Thanks for the encouragement A-Jay.

Well, when I'm not working heavily like I was for the last few months, I eat a very clean diet. It still amazes me how much "clean" food I eat per day compared to some of the junk I used to chow down.

Rest week number two began yesterday for me then it will be the last 4 weeks of p90x.  I haven't been great with he diet but not bad either, just not to the level they recommend.  I am looking forward to the last month and then starting up p90x2 and i am going to follow the diet plan pretty strict as well which i know from past experience helps out a ton.
