For me, part of the fun in bass fishing is learning a new technique or catching fish on new and different gear. I like trying new tackle companies that may not be on the shelves at Bass Pro, Cabelas, TW, etc. Some of the "small batch" gear is usually the best quality and is oftentimes made in the USA.

Does anyone have any local tackle companies or non-mainstream tackle companies they like to fish? Could be lures, rods, reels, line, anything. I just enjoy seeing what's out there. I saw a shirt the other day that said "Buy Local or Bye Local." I think that's true in fishing tackle and I like to support the smaller businesses with good products.

My local tackle shop only sells their own branded jigs.  They are great.  Everything else I buy from big manufacturers.  Storm, Zoom, Rapala, Reaction Innovations, Robo, Strike King, Berkley, Yamamoto, Yum....etc.

My one branch out product is the D.O.A. hothead and chughead.  I realize this isn't a new product for people who live near the coast.  I've never seen them local though.

Put that sucker on a fluke and it just adds another way to fish them.  Flukes are amazing.  I fish flukes with underspins more than anything, but second would probably be weightless with a hot head.

You can start supporting my dear friend GMan which is  also a supporter of this site by purchasing your jigs from Siebert Outdoors

the thing is that with products like that you dont get guarantee or warranties so just think about that i rather buy something that has lifetime warranty then some unknown that dont have warranty, and even if its new and has warranty, you dont know how bad or how good is it. a well known brand you will know how good is it. its called reputation

I get all my wacky jigs, tube heads, drop shot sinkers, football heads local...............LMAO. He doesn't charge me much, and often uses lead/hooks I supply. You just have to watch out for all the chicken crap in his yard. I return the favor by watching him haul buckets of sap out of the woods in the winter for maple syrup, just in case he slips and falls or something. I am sure after I stopped laughing I would help, or at least call for help........well maybe go get help, since the phone reception at his house is iffy at best.
