I have looked everywhere for the Flat 7's and just can't seem to find them.

Did I miss some bit of info that Rapala was discontinuing this model of crank? :)

Try searching the internet... :)

Cabelas has them half price. You'd better hurry.

That is really gonna dissappoint me and pizz me off straight out if they are discontinuing them. That is by far one of the best cranks you can buy for the money.Wouldn't put it past em one bit. Also I did notice that BPS was clearing them out a while back and Dick's has also been clearing them out.

When they come out with a winner, its the kiss of death for that product. They really tick me off with this...I'm at the point now that I flat refuse to buy their baits.

Where would the flat be a better option than the regular DT? Is it like a hybrid lipless crank? I have one but haven't thrown it.

Its got a different rolling style wobble to it that will attract fish the DT may not. It also bounces off cover and goes over it compared to the DT series that will go around it.

I love to throw flats close to shore and bring them down a bank holding rock and tree structure

Don't want to steal the thread but what are some of your favourite colours for the DT Flats?

I keep it pretty simple, I throw the silver and black quite a bit along with the craw color.  I have a few cranks that I throw when I'm having a tough day getting bit, those DT flat 7's seem to always catch a fish or two for me.

They may very well not be getting rid of the Flat DT cranks, I just always noticed they were available no matter where I went.

I stopped by BPS in Tennessee a couple weeks ago and they didn't even have any in stock.  That is what sent the red flag up for me.  My local Dicks Sporting Goods always had them in stock, not a single one can be found at any of the Dicks I have been to.

Something is up, just not sure what it is yet.  If I find some I'm probably going to buy all I can just in case.  This would be so like Rapala to do something like this, just like several other great baits they have made only to be discontinued.

All of my local Gander and Dick's stores have had the sureset DT's clearanced..... I was under the impression that it was only there sureset hook baits that were going?

I think there are much better options for woody cover. I love the flat for grinding the edges of ledges and across rocky or hard bottom humps and other such types of structure. It produces some incredible reaction strikes for me doing this when other cranks seem to fail. Due to the flat sides the bait puts off a lot more flash too. Sometimes thats what the fish want.

The sureset baits need to stay and the colors from those series. It's that godforsaken snaggly goofy deathtrap hook that needs to go, at least from the front...
