Super User Sam Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 http://www.wlox.com/story/23681047/jackson-motel-shooting-leaves-one-man-dead What bothers me is that all of our boats and equipment are at risk when we park them at a hotel/motel. This is an unnecessary tragedy. T&P to his wife and family. I guess it is getting to the point where we all have to arm ourselves when in a tournament or just traveling with our boats and also keep a weapon in the boat while fishing. Quote
Todd2 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very sad, thoughts and prayers for the family Quote
awefvawervwae Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Thoughts and prayers for the family and everyone involved. Unfortanitly that is what today's society is faced with. One reason I always am carring. My wife dosen't not like it that I do but I remind her of the fire extingisher annalagy. 1 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 So very sad. I carry whenever I leave the house. This is why some folks have fire extinguishers in their boats. Why not a firearm (on their person, not just in a boat of course)? Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 Terribly sad story Quote
Super User bigbill Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 Sorry for there loss my thoughts and prayers go out for the family. When I'm fishing or go anywhere I'm always armed that's another post. Quote

martintheduck Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 This arouses so many hateful thoughts inside of me....that's a real tragedy 1 Quote
KyakR Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Heartbreaking. Guess he was the kind of guy for whom hurting somebody was such an alien idea he couldn't imagine somebody doing harm to him. I can't imagine what his family is going through. He was in his prime. Had my camp broken into one time while I was in it. I hid in a small enclosure under the bed. Afterwards I bought a shotgun, which I hope to heaven I'll never use. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 16, 2013 Super User Posted October 16, 2013 It's shocking and heartbreaking...simple burglary escalates to murder. A total waste. I hope justice is served. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted October 16, 2013 Super User Posted October 16, 2013 Update ... someone came forward and confessed to the murder. http://www.wapt.com/news/central-mississippi/jackson/jpd-teen-confesses-to-bass-fishermans-slaying/-/9156912/22459794/-/2aakb8z/-/index.html Quote
Brian Needham Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 well they caught/arrested the guy and he confessed...... I wouldn't call it coming forward. glad they caught the POS, and hope he fries......wait I think Mississippi does the needle. Quote
bassguytom Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 That is horribly sad on all ends. Somehow this 17 year old boy was able to pull the trigger on an unarmed man without a 2nd thought. Tragic news like this really make me think of the line in the song " teach your children well". I don't carry a gun, I've had enought of that in oher parts of the world but this really is giving me 2nd thoughts. Quote
gallowaypt Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Sadly, a CHL might be necessary in our world today. He should get the death penalty but probably won't because he's not 18. Quote
Brian Needham Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Sadly, a CHL might be necessary in our world today. He should get the death penalty but probably won't because he's not 18. I think they were trying as a capital case so we shall see. During the bond hearing (I think, don't quote me) the judge saw that the guy didn't have a lawyer present so the judge rescheduled. Which makes me HOPE he had counsel present at the confession, if not the confession probably wont be allowed at trial and the POS will walk..... Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted October 18, 2013 Super User Posted October 18, 2013 two lives ruined...for plastic worms... someone here in town was beaten in broad daylight while in his yard by two fellows, one with a metal pipe... you need to be careful when confronting people...they are often not in the right state of mind and could cost you your life. JellyMan Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 This stuff just really sucks big time. We live on a crazy planet. Thoughts out to everybody. Quote
