Hey guy's and gal's! I'm having a real hard time deciding what to get for my remaining 2/ 5 rods for my 20 somthin rod arsenal . What are your feelings on the Vendetta series? I have pretty much got all my spinning, frog and flipping setups all set. As well as my crank bait setups. My question is this and I guess it's 2fold......................what lengths and actions would you suggest  for drop shot. ,Carolina rig,  senko/plastics and jigs?  And how do you all feel about the Vendetta  rods as a whole?????    I have 3  med 7' -0"  Vendettas  and i feel as tho I need 5 more to complete the total arsenal.  I know opinions vary, but i'm looking for as many as I can get, and than make a decision from there.  Maybe you could give me what  or how you'd set up the arsenal of  20 somthin. I want 8 spinning and 14/16 casting. Consider I prefer casting..

I have already:

1- 7'11"  Heavy frog/flip

2- 7'6"    Mh  crankin

4- 7'4"    Mh crankin      CASTING

1- 7'2"    M   crankin

1-7'3"     M   crankin

4 7'0"     M   crankin

6- 7'4"    M   Spinning

1- 7'0"    Ml  Spinning

1- 6'9"    Ml  Spinning

What am I missing and if so would the Vendetta be an ok  choice to add with. Right now I have a mixxed bag. Quantum KVD Tour, Abu Veritas, Shimano Crucial, and Abu Vendetta.

Thank you so much for any input

I have a 7' mh vendetta that I only use for frogging and I like it a lot. For 80$ it's a good rod.

If you're going to go with a vendetta I would go with the 6'9" ML spinning for the drop shot, senkos if you want to also.

Out of all of the abu rods I'm most impressed with the veracity. I don't know the exact weight of each rod but the veracity I have balances perfectly and feels weightless in my hand

I have a 1st gen Vendetta, a 6'6" M-F casting rod and I really like it. I got it for fishing out of the jon boat on the river where space is limited so I figured the Vendetta would be a good versatile rod that wouldn't hurt so bad if it broke, I now use it a good bit besides on a jon boat. I like my Vendetta as an all purpose set up but what it really does well is larger jerkbaits and spinnerbaits, the 6'6" length makes it perfect for those two techniques because it allows for accurate casting and you can work a jerkbait without hitting the rod tip on the water. It is a little stiff but it will fool you because it is a powerful caster and while it is stiff the medium still will flex like a normal medium power rod when you fight a fish, I would have been satisfied had I paid more money for it when they came out because it does fish very well for the price point.

I like vendettas a lot, but you said you already have a few. So what does it matter what anyone else thinks. If you like them buy more, if you don't.... don't. If you buy and use stuff because of what other people think... That's silly.

Just need opinions to make the best decision I can. Doesnt mean i'll only buy what i'm told. I'm merely looking for input.

Thanks

I've got one of the first-generation Vendetta's.  They're nice rods, nothing fancy.  I dislike the reel seat locking nut; it's machined aluminum and looks great, but there's no graphite insert to pad the reel foot.  The metal nut grinds off paint on reel feet even faster than reel seats with inserts.  Otherwise, the Vendetta is fine.  Mine is a 7' M/F, and it's currently set up with an Ambassadeur 5501C3 and 12# mono.  Use it for bigger cranks.

If you'd be willing to try another brand of rod, I'd suggest you take a good hard look at the Team Daiwa T rods.  They're slightly less expensive than the Vendetta and seem to be built a little better.  The TDT also has a padded reel seat locking nut, which is nice.  I've got two, a 6'6" M/XF and a 7' MH/XF.  I'd definitely go with the TDT over the Vendetta if given a choice.

I also like the Daiwa Aird and Ballistic rods.  The Aird is definitely a $50 rod and has some rough edges, but I still like it better than the Vendetta.

The Ballistic is on closeout at TW for $65.  I got the 7'11" cranker for chunking lipless cranks, and it does that really well.  Also have the 7'2" spinning rod, but I don't use spinning gear much so that rod doesn't see a lot of use.  Both are built a bit nicer than my TDT's and Vendetta.

For the plastics setups you mentioned, other than drop shot, a 7' MH/F or MH/XF should cover your bases if you're only getting one rod.  If you're getting multiple rods, I'd recommend a 7'MH/XF for C-rigs, the same for jigs, and a 7'M/XF for senkos and general plastics.
