Swampstud Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Took the family out today with a bucket of minnows, it didnt take long before we had action. Mostly small fish but we got a couple keepers, I managed to land a 20-21in pike. We went threw 2 dozen minnows, and I just so happened to bring my jig rod with me, I had found one last blk-blue rage craw. First cast to a rockpile I pull this big girl out. Next cast I pull out this one. Big one was 19 inchs 3.5+ im guessing. This is my personal best ever smallie, I was siked, lol! 1 Quote

seekonkBass Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Its been bit or miss for me, but the days there hitting they're hitting hard and frequently so I guess I'll chalk it up to mostly good! Quote

Hattrick7 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Nice smallies! Been hit or miss for me. I miss the saltwater calico bite that's for sure. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Fall is in full swing up here in the north country. It's been a good one for big largies Quote

boostr Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 As a first timer I'm not doing to bad without a boat. Quote
JellyMan Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The fall bite in North Florida is on. 13 fish in 2 days. I get out of class on Wed at 10am so I'm going to get back on the water for the remainder of the day. 80's during the day and 60's at night is getting the bass up! Quote
swagkid300 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 beast smallies homie i had a lot of luck, i've caught at least 15+ of 20-22" bass so far Quote
alexandboi Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Its been horrible for me so far. Pretty much all lakes about 1.5 hr or less away are closed due to the government shutdown, so I haven't even gotten the chance to get out there haha. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 14, 2013 Global Moderator Posted October 14, 2013 They're still really scattered out around here right now, a lot of junk fishing and catching fish on a little bit of everything. Wednesday and Thursday is Monster Quest days for kanasbassfisher08 and I. We'll be making a long drive to the SE corner of the state to fish a deep, clear strip pit that's stocked with 8-12 inch trout biweekly that grows some monster bass, for Kansas anyways. Not really looking to catch a bunch, just wanting to stick a monster! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 This entire year just not the fall has been as bad as I can remember. What little bass fishing I'm doing now has been terrible, and the saltwater bite stinks. About every commercial or charter fisherman I know is ready to file bankruptcy, lol, not really but they are hurting. Don't cry for me I'm still catching fish, but the size and numbers are no where near what is normal. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 I haven't been out too much this fall because of work and family, but this whole year has been one of the worst. Of all the times I have been out this year, I have been skunked probably 50% of the time. Quote
Swampstud Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 The reports your giving sounds hit and miss. Either were clobberin them or notta. Thanks for the comments and hopefully yhe fishing turns good for the notta's. Seems like to me theyve be on structure lately. I got those 2 from an homemade broken down since 90's boathouse. Theres alot of rocks and wood on this spot. The smallie I got last week that is in my profile pic I got that from this spot also. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 My 'home' pond has been very slow since August. I've been trying T-rigged worms, Senkos, spinner baits, and crank baits with little luck, especially the last 3 weeks. There isn't a lot in the way of structure, but there are some 'hills' with weed beds in the deeper sections. Shore access is 360 degrees. This is the first fall at this pond for me so I'm still looking for them. BTW Spring and early Summer were very good, so I'm at a little bit of a loss. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 yup just got skunked at other honey hole Quote
quanjig Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Lots of small fish, wish I could find a bunch more like this! Got our end of the year 2 day classic and a bunch of these would make it all good!! 1 Quote
