cjam93 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Hey guys I was getting pretty interested in the Duo Spinbaits but Im wondering if it is more so just a clear water bait. Has anyone used them in stained to muddy water? Most of the videos I have seen of them have been in clear water, and none of the colors really had any kind of chart colors to them. If you would fish them in stained to muddy water what color would you use? thanks! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted October 13, 2013 Super User Posted October 13, 2013 It's a clear water technique. Other companies do make larger baits that might be more suited to off color water but it's meant for clear water. Quote
cjam93 Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 What other baits then would you suggest for stained to muddy water? Quote
Bass Junkie Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 What other baits then would you suggest for stained to muddy water? The Lucky Craft Screw Pointer seems to have significantly larger props, which would aid in more vibration. I'd also check out the Lucky Craft Blade Cross. Although not a Spybait per say, it has the same concept. Quote
cjam93 Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 Ok cool thanks Ill check those out! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted October 13, 2013 Super User Posted October 13, 2013 The Megabass X-Plose is a larger bait with bigger props as well. Quote
PABASS Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 My boater few weeks ago was using this technique in stained water and it produced. He was using a Duo Realis Spinbait love the action of this bait, the main problem was I think he caught more pickerel then bass. Quote

I will say the prism gill is a nice balance since its shinny has some contrast and slim like a minnow. Also I belive these baits put off vibration as well. I was using a swimbait and caught more bass, he caught more fish using his lure. Quote
Trey Harpel Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 the spinbait80s have been taking the tackle industry by storm! I Just got a bunch in stock and they go fast! its a clear water light line tech, which has been catching all species of fish.. ive got some buddies up north catching the heck out of crappie with the baits.. You really cant go wrong with any od the DUO colors as they just released Ghost M shad, Ghost Pearl and Mirror Gill.. Trey Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted October 23, 2013 Super User Posted October 23, 2013 The thing you need to remember is this bait makes little noise, you need to be on fish in order for it to work, a good friend of mine has used it almost the entire summer, he has caught some fish in stained water with about 2 feet of visibility, any worse and he didn't get bit so while it did work in off colored water, there did have to be some visibility, if you are dealing with less than 2' of visibility then go with a different bait.
