JayKumar Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Mono is fine but 12 will stretch a lot especially when wet for a while. Try 15 or 17. But if you are hooking up on the T-rigs, it's not the line. Maybe try offsetting the hook point on that jig. Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 Tip on pork trailers; use a 3/4" length of finesse worm threaded onto the jig hook shank, up against the skirt. Always nose hook a pork trailer. The worm piece keeps the pork from fouling the hook point. Tom Quote
Texas bassman Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I set my drag all the way and use 20# fluorocarbon on a medhvy 7ft rod. It works like a champ. I'm never broken off 20# 1 Quote
NC_Bass6 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 i use one reel and two rods for my baitcasting, so i am in a pretty similar situation. I use 15 lb pline on my reel and have fished everything with it and have never had a problem with not being able to set the hook Quote
