Super User bigbill Posted October 11, 2013 Super User Posted October 11, 2013 My wife's girlfriend/co-worker asked me to take her and my wife fishing. I'm putting together two light casting rods with two ultra-lite zebco spincast reels for them. I'm thinking some nightcrawlers and bobbers will get them started. I'm thinking down the road after a few trips pan fishing I may get them hooked on bass fishing. I'm thinking one more plus to get a bass boat. I'm hoping they have an awesome time. They want me to take them target shooting with 22's too. I said sure no problem. I'm hoping they have a great time outdoors fishing and enjoy the wildlife as I have too. Bill My misses has just finished her ccw course. To conceal carry a handgun. She just needs to wrap up the finger printing. Since she walks the dog all the time I worry about her running into a rabid animal or a coyote. We still have a 350/400# black bear who just ate all the fruit on my Apple, peach and pear trees. With all these predators making a comeback I worry about her when walking the dog. Quote
aceman387 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 It sounds like you will have a lot of fun Bill, the more people the more laughs! Quote
KyakR Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Hey, I got hooked on bass fishing with a worm and a bobber! So cool that they have not only a knowledgable guide but also one who loves the outdoors Having someone show interest and instruct is beyond important when a person is new! Quote
Tony L. Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Sounds like a great plan and the absolute best way to get someone started into the sport. Not sure what part of the country ur from, but while ur out getting the ladies acquainted with a bobber, maybe throw an extra baited line out onto the bottom and see if you can pick up a couple catfish too. Very impressive fighters, good on the table, and can get pretty sizeable. I know it isn't as fast paced as bluegill on a bobber, but while you're out there ya might as well give it a try. Quote
T-Rick Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Bill, I feel better now. When I read your title line, I thought Bf was short for Boy Friend. 5 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted October 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 12, 2013 Years ago when we caught catfish we gutted them and rolled them across a wood fire. I'm going to take any catfish they catch and take them home and cook them for the ladies. With a little salt n pepper with a sprinkle of lemon juice my cooking should impress them with there catch. 1 Quote

Super User bigbill Posted October 15, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2013 Best friend, gal friend, there funny together. My thinking is if I get them hooked on fishing then it's easier to get a boat if everyone likes to go fishing. Plus the more people we have the more fun a day on the water can be. Quote
