Super User A-Jay Posted October 29, 2013 Super User Posted October 29, 2013 The Boston Beards are up 3 games to 2 and we're headed back to Fenway. A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 29, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 29, 2013 Yeah it doesn't look good for cards... they need to start hitting ... Sox are on there game ... papi might get another ring which is fine with me! 1 Quote
Fishwhittler Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 They didn't lose BC he got picked out in the bottom of the 9th. They had plenty of oprutnities to score just didn't capitalize and swingingbat bad pitches in a hitters count.. I don't know what the name of the guy is the center feikder for the cards... swinjng at a 2-0 pitch at by his hands getting jammed and popping out to SS.. just the little things there not doing right.. and the Sox are getting clutch hits... batters going O'fer and coming up with huge home runs and grandslams... My point was that the game ended on a base-running mistake. Agree that there have been tons of other missed opportunities for the Cards. 1 Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 29, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 29, 2013 its going to be tough this time around for the cards at Fenway! Quote
Fishwhittler Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 its going to be tough this time around for the cards at Fenway! True. On the other hand, it's Wacha's turn to pitch, and he won his last game at Fenway. With the exception of a few shaky innings in WS game two, he's been as shutdown as they come. He's going to have to do it again to extend the series to seven games. The way the Cardinals have been hitting, Wacha's just about going to have to throw a shutout in order for the Cards to have any chance at all. Quote

With both offenses getting a second look at the Game 6 starting pitching (a third look for some of the Cards in Lackey's case) There could be a few more hits in the game. As a Baseball Fan - I simply hope who ever is calling the Balls & Strikes is Consistently Correct. The rest will take care of itself. A-Jay 1 Quote
moguy1973 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 The Cardinals need to get the bat off their shoulders and swing it a couple times...So many called strike three's the past few games... Quote
grampa1114 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Well...this is the most exciting World Series in a bunch of years and Wednesday night with the Cards "best" in front of the Red Sox home fans...it isn't going to get any calmer. On to game 6. Quote

A-Jay I am not as concerned about the strike zone being consistently correct as i am it being consistent with what is called. I mean when was the last time you saw a strike called above the waist by more than an inch when by the rules i believe it is basically from right below the letters to the knees. The schedule worked out perfect too.....game 6 with no other competing sports. Quote

craww Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Gotcha. I remember the whitesox had 3 guys hitting triple digits and it was a bit sketch. Turned on the game 1 I think and there were several guys sitting in the high 90's, so I was wondering. I Used to be a diehard fan and lost interest a few years back. Right wrong or indifferent the current influx of 3-2 games just doesnt personally keep me intrigued the same way anymore...Still love a good october game though! Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 31, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2013 The what makes baseball awesome, anything can happen.. but Boston is smoking the cards tonight Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 31, 2013 Super User Posted October 31, 2013 I wonder how many times a person has been up with the bases loaded not once but twice in a single post season game and three times in one postseason.....seems pretty crazy just like Victorino's attempt at growing a beard. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 31, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2013 Yeah the guys sitting high 90's like Martinez, rosenthale not sure how to spell that... they throw gas you can tell by how explosive they are.. plus there 8th and 9th inning guys... rosenthale just comes in, throws fast baseballs and strikes out the side.. you know you throw chaddar when you can do that.. Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 31, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2013 Congrats to the red sox .. they deserve it!!!! Its party time in Boston tonight... Quote

The one that got away Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Good series overall, not an all-time great, but still good, with a few things never seen before. Great pitching on both sides. The Sox were grinders, as they have been all year (never lost more than 3 in a row). Might have to change my avatar like A-Jay did. Parade on Saturday, and then spring training will be here before you know it and it's baseball time again. Quote
grampa1114 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Great series...really kept the viewers on their toes...Cards have some great years to look forward to with all those young and talented players. This year Experience and Talent payed off...doesn't always work that way....Congrats to the "Beards"....and thanks for a very entertaining season. Now on to the Duck Boats. Quote
jignfule Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I hate the bosox, I wish the cards would have showed up. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted November 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2013 I just don't get the "hate" thing.. why don't you like the sox? Quote
jignfule Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I just don't get the "hate" thing.. why don't you like the sox? Because they are the BOSTON red socks and hate is probably too mild of a term. Quote
