Missourifishin Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 It really was disappointing to have the game end that way. But I think Craig would have scored easily had he not tripped on the third baseman. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 27, 2013 Super User Posted October 27, 2013 it was a legitimate call and made appropriately. And if you watch the play he slid in, the throw was missed and he got up and stumbled over middlebrooks. The call is pretty easy actually and should be made regardless of the situation of the play. As far as the hit by pitch call on Beltran it is never called if a batter doesn't move out of the way but it is called if they lean in to the pitch, which he didn't do. 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted October 27, 2013 Super User Posted October 27, 2013 A Loss is a loss and in the big picture it doesn't matter. A Walk-off Home Run & this type of situation, both still count the same. Of course as a Sox fan, I'm not happy: more with the loss itself and less on how it happened. It was a "Judgment Call" but as a friendly reminder, this is the same Umpire (no need for names) that used his "Judgment" (Incorrectly) to ruin a Perfect Game a couple of seasons ago) - another Horrific Call. On to game 4. A-Jay Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 28, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 28, 2013 Call was the right call. Should be another good game! But I'm missinh a little of it the walking dead is on! Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 Yeah it should be Rogaine not romaine, new laptop auto corrects differently, and i was asking a question not necessarily correcting. Quote
The one that got away Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 More bad baserunning and questionable managing tonight, on both sides. Could be baseball on Halloween this year. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 Picked off first in the bottom of the 9th ~ Wow ! Fenway will be Rocking for game 6. A-Jay 1 Quote

Yeah, I don't know what he was thinking. Anyway, as crazy as this series has been, it's anyone's to win. Should be interesting to say the least. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 It has been entertaining and I like the weird factor with al lthe plays that you rarely see in the rgular season let alone the postseason and even less so in the WS. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 It has been a Wild, Crazy & Very Close WS. Since the trend has already been set, I'd like to see some more unusual plays ~ An Unassisted Triple Play, A Pitcher Hits a Home Run, Someone hit for The Cycle, or even an Inside the Park Home Run. Whatever happens, I just hope they keep pitching to Big Papi. A-Jay Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 Pitcher hitting a homer in the WS isn't that rare but it would be cool to see....unassidted triple play to end the game would be even better and keep in line with the rest of the end of game plays this series Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted October 28, 2013 Super User Posted October 28, 2013 One of the better world series so far. 1 Quote

Fishwhittler Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 One of the better world series so far. Unless you're a Cardinals or Red Sox fan. The quality of play has been generally abysmal. I like baseball, but I like seeing Major League players play like Major Leaguers. The Cardinals lost last night on a base-running error, the Red Sox blew game three with bad throwing, and the Cardinals' defense in game one was hardly there at all. I hope the quality of play is better in the remaining games. Quote

They had plenty of oprutnities to score just didn't capitalize and swingingbat bad pitches in a hitters count.. I don't know what the name of the guy is the center feikder for the cards... swinjng at a 2-0 pitch at by his hands getting jammed and popping out to SS.. just the little things there not doing right.. and the Sox are getting clutch hits... batters going O'fer and coming up with huge home runs and grandslams... Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 28, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 28, 2013 And I'm a meta fan so I'm used to seeing very bad baseball Quote
