airborne_angler Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Just won an auction for 4 of these baits New in the package on Ebay. Anyone know the specs on these Cranks? Weight? Depth of Dive? Wide or narrow wobble/wiggle? How do these compare to other crankbaits like Bombers,Rapalas and Bandits? Quote
oprcsr Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I've always liked the rebel crankbaits. I've used the Wee R or Deep Wee R's a bunch. I think the Deep Wee R's go to 10+ depending on line etc. The Wee line are pretty tiny, comparable in size to a Strike King 3. Quote
Coonedawg Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I have a few Crank R's and they are decent crankbaits for the price. All the ones I have run about 3-4ft max and they have a really unique rattle in it. The ones I have are similar to a one-knocker bait with one single bb in it and it sounds almost like the Rapala Clackin Rap. You dont hardly see them anymore. The few I have a bought at a huntin and fishin expo for 1.50 a piece. Size, weight, and action is very similar to a Wee R in my opinion. I'm sure you'll be able to catch some fish on them. Quote
tholmes Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I have a few of those baits and, IIRC, they weigh in at 3/8 oz. They'll dive to about 4' or so, and they will catch fish. Tom Quote
airborne_angler Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 So do all these Crank-R baits have a Transparent body? All 4 of the ones I just got are see through. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 10, 2010 Super User Posted September 10, 2010 I love Rebel's deep wee r. Just wish they would bring some of the old colors back. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted September 10, 2010 Super User Posted September 10, 2010 I still fish the Deep Wee R. I like the shad color with the purple back. Can't tell you how many I've put in the boat over the years with it. It's responsible for my first ever tournament win back in 68. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 11, 2010 Super User Posted September 11, 2010 Between the Deep Wee R's and Super R's, I can't recall how many fish I've caught on those baits over the years. The Super R is long since become a collectors piece but the Deep Wee R's are still around. They look basically the same as the did, not sure if the action's changed or not. Quote
Super User CWB Posted September 11, 2010 Super User Posted September 11, 2010 Not to be a smart a** but I do my research before buying something. See below. Quick google never hurts. http://www.eburch.biz/rebel_crank_r_d24.htm Quote
airborne_angler Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Still doesnt tell me how deep these go on the retrieve, I know some have said 4'. Of the 4 Crank-R baits I recently purchased one of them says "DEEP CRANK-R" on the lip. All 4 baits look identical with the exception of the colors. If they only run 4' how is that considered to be "DEEP"? Quote

Super User iceintheveins Posted September 13, 2010 Super User Posted September 13, 2010 I can get 10' - 12' on the deep wee with 10 pound test. Quote
