MIbassin Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Hey guys, Last weekend i went to a friends party and when my dad picked me up, he started talking with another man who is also a huge fisherman. He told us some secret spots that no one knows about and let me tell you, i am glad they talked! The best pond is about thirty acres in size and for years you were not allowed to fish it. It was stocked a couple years ago with only bass and some type of forage(not sure if it's bluegill or frogs or what) Anyway, this pond is so good that you could literally point to a spot ANYWHERE in the pond and say "i'm going to get a strike here" It was crazy! In two hours i caught over thirty bass ranging from 1-3.5lbs but i saw some HUGE northern strain bass, i'm not exaggerating when i say that i saw bass up to 25 inches and 8 pounds and i saw more that one! The pond is relatively clear with a bottom that mostly has some wood and stringy weeds(not the slop we commonly get) do you guys have any tips on how to get those monsters? I caught the biggest one of the day on a huddleston weedless shad, lost a 6+ on a 68 hudd, and caught about 20 bass on hollow body frogs off of the same grass mat!(i got some in open water too) Do you guys have any tips on how to catch these big ones? I plan on throwing more Hudds, but besides that? Thanks! This one went 3.5, i know some of you are looking and saying there's no way, but it was weighed on 2 different scales and was obviously bigger in person-caught her paralleling the bank( that's where most of my big ones came from!) 1 Quote
Super User Marty Posted October 10, 2013 Super User Posted October 10, 2013 Just curious, is this pond private or accessible to the public? Quote
LMB ANGLER Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 dont tell no one about that spot, get a gopro and make yourself famous on youtube thats all i have to say 1 Quote
BennyB Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 How deep is the pond or lake? Try a jointed rapala crank bait. These always do awesome for me in ponds that aren't heavily pressured. Also your soft plastics should knock em dead. Wish I could come fish it with you! Quote

wademaster1 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Time on the water will bring better fish.....try different baits and keep that place on the down low.... 2 Quote
Creekcrappie Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 That makes me want to drive up there from Tennessee! Quote
KyakR Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Terrific find! Very nice fish! Hope this isn't sacrilege, but good size live bait is likely to get the monsters' attention. And what wademaster 1 says Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted October 11, 2013 Super User Posted October 11, 2013 That's a fatty nice fish Quote
CPBassFishing Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Chuck that 230 mag jointed claw you got long casts and slow pulls parallel to the bank. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted October 12, 2013 Super User Posted October 12, 2013 Try burning a rat-l-trap across the tops of the weeds, and nice bass! Quote
