Super User Felix77 Posted October 11, 2013 Super User Posted October 11, 2013 This is about 90 minutes from me. I have a friend who works for Cisco and he had to do a delivery around there. Apparently yesterday it was a mob scene vs. The Wed opening. It is 1/2 the size of the Auburn store so I don't have high expectations. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Decided to stop on by today with my daughter. The place is certainly tiny and I probably won't be back there unless I am so bored during the winter that I am compelled to kill a day browsing for boats I cannot afford. I went to get a deal on 2 baitcasters which retail for $79 to 99 which I got for $59 each. It was the older Orra SX but it was still worth the trip to at least walk out with two of those. Quote

Thanks for the update Felix. I heard that it was going to be a smaller store but I was still holding out in case that wasn't the truth. Oh well, I'll still check it out at some point. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 dang i was hoping for a big one.. oh well as long as they go a decent bass section ill be fine with that.... i wish wed get one in Albany felix that would be awesome.. and im sure they'd do alright Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 I was out there for 2 months hoping it would open when I was staying in Rome. The auburn store is closer still never been though. Quote

It's called BassPro Shops Outpost really big up front. When you go in you quickly realize you are in an essentials only shop. Check it out for yourself. Like I said it's worth it for a quick trip but if you have been to Auburn or especially Foxboro and expect that you will be disappointed. Quote

It's a very small selection. A sampling of key things they sell at a regular bass pro. Us Albany people have some home. Dicks Sporting Goods is moving into the new Latham Circle Mall. The old store in Latham Farms is rumored to become a Field and Stream store. Essentially Dicks' competitor store to Bass Pro. The first opened in PA. http://www.fieldandstreamshop.com/ Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 15, 2013 Super User Posted October 15, 2013 that would be awesome! the dicks sporting goods at cross gates gets old.. they have a decent selection but i got there all the time.. A field and stream would give us more choices. 1 Quote
Robert Oakden Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Hey felix do they have a better selection than the dicks at crossgates? I was gonna go up there Saturday but if the selection sucks I would rather just go to dicks Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted November 5, 2013 Super User Posted November 5, 2013 Dicks is pretty light on their selection now. Ice fishing stuff is taking over the shelves. I guess it depends on what you are going to buy. Quote
Robert Oakden Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I was hoping that had a decent selection of left handed reels. Wanted to check out the carbonlite baitcaster and bps rods Quote
