Are you looking for reel or rod?  Your topic says reel, and the question is a rod?

I will not go into brands, but you want the fewest IPT for a deep crank reel.  And then something in the middle for shallow to mid depth cranks.  Do not just look at gear ratio, look at IPT!

To me it's how much do you want to spend.

I feel stupid but what is IPT?

The diameter of the spool when it's filled with line determinds ITP. I got it. So for the speed of certain lures its the ITP then the gear ratio that determines the lure speed. For deeper running lures we want a slower speed. You guys have it down. Thanks, bigbill

Want a good crankbait or all around rod

Im not trying to be rude here, but how is it that you are asking for free jigs and soft plastics in the Tackle section but talk about buying a new reel here? If i was so tight on money I was asking for free jigs and plastics, you can bet I wouldn't be buying any new reels.

So what's your price range? Are you going to crank fast/slow-deep/shallow there's lots of things to consider when asking. Be specific. I could suggest anything from a zillion crazy cranker to a revo winch, chronarch ci4 or even a metanium. Heck if you burn cranks try a revo rocket.

Ok, that makes sense. As for the reel, i agree with everybody else. Get a good one and it will last you a long time.

I'm going to get a cranking set up after I get a little bit better worm/jig rig. I plan on getting a 4600 C3, because they do last forever.
