Super User ww2farmer Posted October 9, 2013 Super User Posted October 9, 2013 Decided (later than I wanted) to hit Conesus today, since my home lake (Silver) sucked for me last weekend. I wasn't expecting much with high skies/post frontal conditions. Morning bite was unspectacular, but actually better than I thought, I put about 8 small keepers up to 2lbs , and a pair clone of 3.5 lbers in the boat by lunch time. Took a lunch break back at the truck, and headed back out. Ran some new water that I didn't fish in the morning, and the better fish seemed to have the feed bag on in the afternoon. I caught 18 fish over three lbs between 3-6pm, with my best five being a 3-12, a 4-3, a 4-4, a 5-3...............AND a new personal Conesus best, heck best anywhere, 7-1 SLOB!!! That beats the pair of 6-10's tied for first since last Aug. That's three years in row I have tied or beat my PB, but I think this one might stand for a while. 8 Quote

NEjitterbugger Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Nice fat fish! Did you get a length on her by any chance? Doesn't look to long, but sure looks F.A.T.!!! Congrats on the PB!!! Quote
shimmy Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Way to go man! What an absolute giant. That lake produces some big bass. Quote
GeorgiaBassBros Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 That fish is a TANK, shes a greedy girl. Congrats on the new pb! Quote
rmcguirk Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Man that's a slob. That place churns them out. Wish I was better on that lake. Good job! That is one fat, healthy looking slob! Nice job. I'm with JF on wishing I was better on that lake -- and probably moreso as that's where I keep my boat. Even taking out the PB, which is an awesome fish, Farmer's day on the water is better than anything I've had there in 2 years for quality/quantity. I'll catch random 4 and 5 lbers, but its rare for me to catch more than one such fish in an outing, and certainly not the multiples Farmer got that day and regularly gets. (Man, I need to do a better job figuring out that lake...) Kudos. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 12, 2013 Super User Posted October 12, 2013 Congrats, man! That's a beast! Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted October 12, 2013 Super User Posted October 12, 2013 Niece fish !! Quote

J Francho, rmcguirk, or any other WNY BR member......anytime any of you want to go let me know.......I could always use an excuse to get over there and get more time in on that lake. I have fished there on average 4-5 times a year for the past 10 years, The first few years were not pretty, and I struggled.......a lot. But the last few years have been good almost every time, right place right time I am sure. Plus I decided to just fish my strengths and what I am comfortable/confident in when I go there, and take the little curve balls a new/unfamiliar lake gives and apply it to my style of fishing. I am ALMOST gaining enough confidence in myself on that lake to go start donating money on a regular basis on the open tournament scene there, and it's surely on the schedule for the tournaments I run next year.
