YeahSure Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 How is everyone storing their tackle? I do not currently own a boat but I do go fishing on a john boat everytime and I'm looking for a good tackle bag to store my falcon boxes and another one to hold bags of plastics. Thanks for any recommendations Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 5, 2010 Super User Posted September 5, 2010 Any soft bag will do if your just throwing packs of plastics in it, but If you can find them, Falcon FTO Tackle bags are the way to go for FTO boxes, but they're now discontinued Quote
bassman018 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 If you don't need to carry it around and just throw it in a Jon every time you fish one of these http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37113_999043013_100000000_999043012_100-22-1 would be my choice, or just a tackle bag. Vinny Chase Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I have a nice plano bag that holds four storage containers. I got it at Wal-Mart for $20 Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 5, 2010 Super User Posted September 5, 2010 Bdubb, If you are confident in your game plan, techniques and baits you can use a duffel or large gym bag and fill it with three plastic lure boxes and some packages of your favorite plastics plus lunch and drinks and an extra baitcaster and spinning reel. We always take too much tackle with us that gets in the way and we do not use. Just food for thought. Quote
basspro96 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I know a boy that takes one 3700 box and some plastic bags...Thats his tackle box every tournament. I get my tail kicked by him alot. I used a BPS boatbag. Mainly because its waterproof. Also academy has some very nice tackle bags for a low price Quote
guitarkid Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I have a couple 3700 sized boxes in a military standard issue ruck sack -gk Quote
Senkoman12 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I have a nice plano bag that holds four storage containers. I got it at Wal-Mart for $20 i got one too, but need a new because that one is a little small for my name Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted September 7, 2010 Super User Posted September 7, 2010 I use a BPS Stalker bag. It's a little bulky, but it holds everything you can possibly use in a day. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10200527____SearchResults Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 7, 2010 Super User Posted September 7, 2010 Right now i'm just using a cheap Plano bag that hold 4 3700's (Hard Tackle) and one of those drawstring bags for my FTO hook and sinker box with packs of plastic. Also has anyone seen that tackle bag at Gander Mountain that you can fit a small child in!? Overkill to me, but I bet there is someone out there who has it full. Quote
Speed_Racer Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I know a boy that takes one 3700 box and some plastic bags...Thats his tackle box every tournament. I get my tail kicked by him alot. That's awesome. Less clutter and shows he has confidence in his baits. Quote

J. M. Richardson Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I just picked up an AZ4 by flambue at Wal mart that took the place of my large plano 737 since I now fish from shore a lot and wanted a bag I could carry on my shoulder. It fits all but some of my plastics and my spinnerbaits. going to pick up some binders for storage of those since I can attach to this bag. I think it will be a better system for me and the bag is smaller. Quote
Owasco Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I use the BPS XPS Stalker Bag. I do alot of shore fishing and it is perfect since it is designed to be carried on your back as well. Holds almost anything too. Quote
basser223 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 when im in my canoe ussually a milk crate filled with plano boxes works great Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted September 11, 2010 Super User Posted September 11, 2010 Being I fish out of a kayak, one small soft tackle bag with a few Plano boxes is fine for me. As for plastics, small ziplock bags with 4 - 5 of each bait is enough. I see no need to carry full bags of plastics. When I used to carry a ton of tackle, I got into the bad habit of changing baits too often. Over time I've whittled it down to what works best for me. I have my ultra lite tackle down to two baby Plano boxes in a soft six pack size lunch cooler. Quote
