Yes I know, bringing a 4 year old thread back to life. But there is so much good information and so much entertaining knowledge that I couldn't help but comment.

With the water shortages in southern California and DFW all but stopping the trout planting mixed with an old gene pool the magic is just about over out there. DD fish will still be caught, but the true giants will be very few and far between. 

 

We seem to be in the era of giant smallmouth and spotted bass though.
