Romo isnt dallas' only problem, but QB is the most important position on the field. When your QB is constantly costing you games due to untimely gaffs and late game turnovers he is a HUGE part of the problem. you cant blame the mistakes that romo makes on the defense. now maybe now and then the oline allowing pressure or a receiver running the wrong route can be attributed to romo's turnovers, but most cases its his decision making. he crumbles under pressure more often than not.

if you want me to throw around blame other places i can do that too. inconsistent oline play, horrible play calling by callahan and previously garrett, refusing to run the ball enough, battered and injured dline, being too loyal to guys like jay ratliff, bringing in two man cover press corners and making them play kiffins tampa-2 system a year later, jerry jones as GM...shall i continue?

That is simply not true.

just came across this romo stat on twitter

I'm sure most teams lose a lot of games in which their qb throws a 4th qtr interception.  It didn't say whether or not the Cowboys were already losing those games though.    Romo has a higher winning percentage in comeback games than Roger Staubach, who was nicknamed the "Comeback Kid."  There is a perception of Romo that simply isn't true.  The stats don't back it up and the actual games don't back it up.  The perception is far different than the reality.

Romo threw the same number of interceptions on Sunday as Manning.  His only other one this year was in the first qtr of the first game when his rookie receiver ran the wrong route.

Don't let the facts get in the way of the media-hyped perception the man.

Staubach: NFC Championships 5 & Superbowl wins 2

If Romo is who you've hung you hat on to get you to a superbowl...good luck with that!

Staubach: NFC Championships 5 & Superbowl wins 2

I'm not trying to compare Staubach and Romo, that would be ridiculous.  My point was only that when you look at the numbers, it paints a completely different picture.   Romo holds just about every Cowboy statistical passing record, so that doesn't tell the whole story either.  Obviously he's no Staubach or Aikman but he also doesn't have the team around him they did.

I'm a Cowboys fan, not a Romo fan.  I just know that he gets a bad rap that isn't completely deserved.  There are only 7 or 8 quarterbacks in the league that I would take before Romo.  Unfortunately for him, if he doesn't win a Super Bowl in his career, a few bad games will overshadow everything else and become his legacy.

There only one stat that matters...the score board & Romo gave that stat up!

Forget statistics; the dallas cowboys will never amount to anything beyond a 1st round playoff team with Tony Romo as they're QB. Defensive players talk about the fact they feed off how he will make a mistake at the most inopertune time. I think theres a psychological effect on thise around him too, no one ever says it but it can't be healthy having the most well known choker in sports as your QB. He pads his stats in garbage time, looks like a worldbeater then enxplicably disappears when they get a lead and can step on an opponents throat, and its garunteed will screw it up when his team needs him the most.

It is simply 100% true. Everyone knows that Romo is a choker. He will give the game away at the most critical juncture. Didnt the cowboys blow 3 consecutive games last year in which they lead by 24 points at one time? But anyways, the media talks about Romo throwing away games in print, radio, and on tv. Many fans on message boards and offline do too. If you cant see that then your view is obstructed by blind homerism. If it is a big meaningful game then Romo is going to throw it away. thats been the case ever since he botched that FG hold in the playoffs...

You're right, blowing a 24 point lead is clearly the quarterback's fault. lol

There's the problem, you get your football opinions from the talking heads and arm chair quarterbacks.  Do a little research.

There's no point in arguing with people who probably haven't seen a handful of Cowboy games in the last 5 years.  I'm out

Its the QBs fault when he is constantly throwing the ball to the other team and giving them pick 6's or short fields for the opponent to score easier, and thats exactly what happened in those games, romo threw them away in the 2nd half, its all there on film for you to see, you cant argue fact. so Yes, the QB can put the defense in bad spots and contribute to blown leads. Also, Romo is known for checking out of runs to passes frequently, its been widely reported too. So instead of handing off and eating clock with a lead and god forbid letting the team punt, Romo will check to a pass and throw the ball to the other team leading to a loss. Dont tell me do a little research, i eat, sleep and drink NFL football year round. And being a Redskins fan, i watch plenty of cowboys and NFC East games. Youre just mad i dont share the same opinion as you. Anyone who follows the NFL diligently can tell you romo is a choker and costs the cowboys games. I form my own opinions based both on the information made available from the media and by what i see when i watch the games every sunday, monday, and thursday, and by conversations i have with others who may offer unique points.

perhaps you should think about what youre saying before you go flying off the handle on a rant...
