That was one of the best games I've seen for a long time.  Romo throws for more than 500 yds. and Manning throws for over 400.  That game could have easily gone either way.  Final score, 51-48, Denver.  Whew!

That leaves only three teams undefeated at 5-0; KC, Denver, and my beloved Saints.  Despite the expertise of Brees, I fear for my beloved Saints should they come face to face with Denver.

That was a great game. I don't like taking pleasure in someone else's moment of failure, but as a Skins fan that interception was alright.

Romo   :laugh5:

As a Skins fan also,  if the same Romo shows up next week,  the Skins are in serious dog doo.

One amazing game!  So much for the Manning - Manning Superbowl at MetLife that I predicted at the beginning of the year!  My Giants aren't holding up their part of the bargain.  LOL

Romo throws for over 500 yards and 5 TDs and gets blamed for losing the game because of his one pick.  How about someone finally call out the defense.  They're horrible!  If your offense scores 48 points, you should win.

On the bright side: If the same Romo shows up next week against the Redskins, the Cowboys should be back to .500 and sitting atop the NFC East.......

Thank you!!!!

Exactly my feelings.

Guess that whole stance by Jerry that the defensive line would be fine doesn't carry a lot of merit now does Jerry?

The foundation of any good 4-3 defense is a dominating 3 technique DT (ie: Warren Sapp).  If you are unable to generate gut pressure on a midline passer (ie: Peyton, Eli, Brees, Rogers, Cutler, Romo, etc...), they will torch your defense.  Guess that first pick (even though Frederick is doing okay) should have been elsewhere huh Jerry!!

It's time for Jerry to step down and let Stephen run the show and get us back to significance once again.

I was not expecting Romo to do that well. I started Cam over Romo in one of my fantasy leagues. That may have been the biggest mistake I made all year.

Who else should they have picked? All of the DTs that everyone was screaming about Dallas passing on have done zero this year. The DT that Denver picked before right before Frederick  isn't even on the active roster due to poor play. And the pick they got in the trade along with Frederick? He put up 150 yards receiving yesterday. This draft was completely different than most, there was minimal difference between the 18th pick and the 45th pick. They didn't like the DTs or Safeties in that range, and other than Eric Reid at 18, none of them have looked very good so far. Jerry caught flack because the "experts" had Frederick going lower, who knows where another team would have grabbed him. He was theyre man and they got him. Romo has always struggled with pressure up the middle and they fixed a weakness.  Its also worth noting that the 3rd round safety Dallas picked up is starting and despite the team getting torched by Payton, is holding up well for a rookie whos a recent RB convert.

Great game, loved every minute of it, especially the Romoment!

I guess I should have been more clear with my comment.  The Frederick pick I actually liked and was very appreciative of some measure of focus on the O-Line.  I guess my point is more inline with the last few drafts - little emphasis on the D-Line now for quite sometime, not just last year's draft.  Even in in free agency, but that is also a double-edged sword because of Jerry's inability to value his current players and not overpay them.  He is horrible at writing contracts based upon performance - he has no ability to see future value relative to the market.

Look at teams like SF, Baltimore, Giants, etc.  Even though they have starters, the line is constantly replenished with depth and talent and they always have the cap space to do it.  Every year we are in cap jail because of bad contracts and incentive laden deals.  As a result, we have no depth and haven't had any for a long time.  I am as big a Cowboys fan as there is (38 years now), but I will not let Jerry off the hook.  I admire his passion for winning, but his eye for talent is getting a little astigmatic and blurry of late.

I understand what you mean. I hated how they ran They ran the 3-4 and hadn't had a nose tackle since parcells left, every draft they ignored it. Jerry has always had a thing for the skill guys. I disliked the TE in rd 2 this year, hr doesn't look bad, but why when you have Witten and Hanna.

In jerrys defense, Dallas does better than anyone at finding guys who either didn't get drafted or are in the scrap heap. At least the scouting dept. Knoes what its doing.

True - the undrafted FAs are usually pretty good.  I too like the TE - Witten's days are numbered regardless of what people think.  1-2 years max if we're lucky.  Austin needs to go bye bye, along with Ratliff.  They need a rotation of 4 DTs and 4 DEs to give Spencer and Ware a breather even though they both can go all game.  An entire season wears them out, and come December they are gassed.

No doubt about that. I went to the Skins-Raiders game last week and it was pretty sad to see in person. RG3 was getting run down by 350 pound lineman and had no break away speed at all. The defense is fair at best and I seriously think they would have lost by 10+ if Pryor was playing instead of Flynn (now cut). Not holding my breath on another division title this year unless things really change. Sunday night could be ugly.

the thing is, Al Davis knew football, Jerry Jones does not know football, he just thinks he does. Before he died, Al Davis had forgotten more football than Jerry Jones will ever know...

The problem was Al "knew" football & had "forgotten"!

Dallas's problem is Romo may never have another game like this again while Payton will this weekend.

I've probably seen every single Romo start since he's been in the league.  Hell, I've probably seen just about every Cowboy's game since the Aikman years.  If you watch Cowboy's football regularly and think Romo is the problem, you're not paying attention, it's laughable.

Aint said Romo's the problem but even you have to admit he is inconsistant. Through 5 games he has thrown 13 TDs, subtact the 5 in this game he's averaged 1.6 per game. Odds says he'll not have a 5 TD weekend.

Manning is averaging 4 TDs per game, odds say he'll do it again this weekend.

Romo isnt dallas' only problem, but QB is the most important position on the field. When your QB is constantly costing you games due to untimely gaffs and late game turnovers he is a HUGE part of the problem. you cant blame the mistakes that romo makes on the defense. now maybe now and then the oline allowing pressure or a receiver running the wrong route can be attributed to romo's turnovers, but most cases its his decision making. he crumbles under pressure more often than not.

if you want me to throw around blame other places i can do that too. inconsistent oline play, horrible play calling by callahan and previously garrett, refusing to run the ball enough, battered and injured dline, being too loyal to guys like jay ratliff, bringing in two man cover press corners and making them play kiffins tampa-2 system a year later, jerry jones as GM...shall i continue?

Al still knew football. he just meddled too much. wouldnt let a coach build a program or run their own schemes was more of his problem...
