gotarheelz14 Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Why is that? Do shad spawn or die in the fall or something like that? Thanks! Quote
Primus Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Shallow Cranks, lipless rattle baits & jigs. Late fall blade baits. Quote
brushhoggin Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 white strike king tour grade swim jig with a zoom watermelon speed craw trailer. Quote
RyneB Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 3/4 ounce Strike King spinnerbait in bluegill color has been my best bait for catching good size fish. I throw all kinds of baits in the fall but that spinnerbait always catches the big ones for me. Quote
hitchhiker Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Flukes n cranks! x2 and don't forget the jerkbaits. Quote
bassman31783 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I agree with all the above with the addition of buzzbaits. Always done real good with them in the fall. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I agree with all the above with the addition of buzzbaits. Always done real good with them in the fall. X2, but make it a rage shad in pearl. When they miss it STOP, they'll come back and get it. I watch it happen all the time. Its real cool when it happens right next to the boat. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted September 5, 2010 Super User Posted September 5, 2010 Swimbaits in shad, trout, baby bass...and a spinnerbait every now and then.. ;D Quote
Dockhead Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Last year for me it was a Chatterbait, shad colored. Quote
Josh Bassman Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Why is that? Do shad spawn or die in the fall or something like that? Thanks! My lake turns over in the fall and the shad get shallow and move into the creek arms. Find balls of shad and you'll find schools of aggressive bass. I live in a warm climate... it was 100 yesterday. Fall means different things to different lakes. Quote
Fat-G Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 To be honest, I caught one fish last Fall. Just one. It was a 4.15, and I caught it on a Mop Jig with a Brush Hog as a trailer. One of my buddies caught a looonnggg fish that was a little skinny on a jig, too. It weight 6 lbs even, but should have weighed 7. This fall I'm sticking to my Rage Craws when I get out, which won't be much. Quote
