A buddy and I are going to make a day trip out to fish the Susquehanna River one day during the next two weeks.  I have never fished it so I am looking online and I can't find much so I figured i'd pose the question on here.  Where do you guys normally launch from? I was looking to use Goldsboro(maybe).  My issue is I don't have a jet boat so I know there are areas where I have to stay away from.  Any help would be great.   I'll be sure to let people know how I do if you're interested.

Thanks,

 Jason

Been a ton of guys fishing around the Statue of Liberty north of Harrisburg. Absolutely NO CLUE how they get there but I'm betting they are on fish. Looks like a boat staged up behind each boulder out there.

Good luck, you might just catch the fish of a lifetime out there this time of year.

Thanks for the input.  That is way to shallow for me and my boat.  I think we are going to go out of Goldsboro or Conowingo.

Fort hunter launch for Statue of Liberty that place fills up wit boats around November when the fish are stacked up. Goldsboro is ok for a prop boat.

If you are looking for more info check out www.riversmallies.com

Those guys fish there a lot and the search function will be your friend.  They are very protective of their river and usually don't just chuck out info but there is always a ton of info out there already....oh and don't be surprised if you get razzed a little bit but it is mostly good natured locker room type ripping :)

I have never fished that stretch so i can't comment as i usually fish the areas 20+ miles or so upriver from harrisburg and i am in my kayak or my dad's jetboat.

Those are located down river just a bit.

Drive at night until you see the glowing water.

I'm heading to the river early tomorrow morning with a buddy of mine.  Other then this light rain during the night it looks like tomorrow is going to be great fishing weather.  I'll be sure to report back with how we did.  Here's to rippin lips and guttin fish. (Don't worry - I only C&R)
