Who Wants In October!

We are going to keep the same rules from last month... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/124375-who-wants-in-september/

One thought that I'd like to put out there is having two categories... One for weight, one for length, yes all scales are a little different but I think it may put a new twist on the competition... The rule(s)for entering fish in the weight category are simple... The photo of the fish on the scale must be readable, try to get most if not all of the fish in the picture including the scale's reading... I think we are all honest enough to do the weighted fish accurately and in a fair manor. I'm still not sure about the weight category but let me know guys...

I'd also like to make an offer to the southern competition... My idea is, for this month (and possible months to come) the longest 15 bass from north Vs the longest 15 bass from the south... Just for some extra fun!!

Let's have another fantastic month!!!

I am in as long as that Maine guy is out.    Just kidding.  Lets see those big girls getting heavy for the cold months.

Sorry Nev but the last picture you posted is of the same fish you posted a few days ago in the September thread. (See post #128 of the September which as of now is unedited.) Funny thing is the post you made in the September thread was also of the same fish with the ruler flipped around(you used both for your total length; not funny!), haha. You can tell by the dirt on the fish right before the tail and small spot of discolor in the mid-body.

So much for the honor system...I apologize for having to do this but it is only fair to others keeping it real.

MARs as much as I hate to say this... I think you are right, the bottom fish posted is the same fish from September thread post #128, and post #128 was supposed to have two fish when it indeed seems to be the same fish...

Oh, and by the way... I'm in. Not sure how much I'll be out there again this month, but I'll sure try!

This is supposed to be a fun competition guys, I guarantee the southern guys won't want to do a North Vs South if we are going to try to pull this... If you don't catch a big fish in a month than you don't catch a big fish, but faking it is really irritating, especially because there is a solid group of fair and honest northeast anglers in this thread, some of them not making the top 5 and still post their fish and provide input...

On a positive note this does mean I finish in 2nd place for the September thread.... LOL, sorry I had to...

But seriously this won't be a fun environment if we are going to have to start checking to see if people are posting duplicates and what not...

Yup, same fish, and as a matter of fact, both the fish posted in post 128 of last month's thing, are the same fish. Nev, not too cool, buddy.

Yep, you can tell by the mark on belly and by the dirt...

You are correct,  Dont jump to conclusions.  We will get the other pic up when i am with the son or grandson tonight.

I am not part of this competition, so I hesitate to jump into the fray.  I don't have a view on whether duplicate fish are being posted.  If so, that is a shame.  But I will say, that laying big fish on the ground in dirt or grass to photograph them is not a good idea.  Check this out on catchphotorelease.com or any site or literature related to safe release of bass.  The fish may swim away fine, but it's chance of delayed mortality is greatly increased.  The contact with the dirt and ground removes a significant amount of the fish's protective mucous (some call it slime) which keeps bateria at bay.  If you are laying a fish down on the ground, it should be placed on a  wet towel.  And it should not be out of the water more than 30 seconds.

That's why I like cell phone pics. At least with my phone, it leaves a date and time stamp of when the pic was taken, and its displayed on my album in the gallery. Also, give Nev a chance to explain himself before conclusions are made. Maybe someone uploads his pic for him and that person posted those two previous pics. Just saying....

Lol there is always an excuse when someone gets caught and there are always those who want to give the benefit of the doubt lol

AK, I get what your saying, but sometimes mistakes could be made, before someone has a chance to explain themselves.

I work with some older guys that are not exactly savvy with today's technology. I hope this is the case, again, sorry I had to point it out.

Anyways, got out for only an hour after work today. First time fishing in two weeks. 4 fish, nothing special but not bad for an hour...
