Yea man that would be cool. So how would it be done say I caught 23, 24, 25 Lou got 22, 21 and Jax got 26, 20.

Jax 26

Ak 25

Ak 24

Ak 23

Lou 22

Lou 21

Jax 20

Then total the 15 up and match it up against your crew's 15?

What kind if snake was it? Did you kill it? If so how? Sorry if you went through all this me and I'm sure DS are interested

It was a water moccasin, a big one. I killed it with a stick, mainly because it had one of my frog hooks stuck in it. I also don't mind one less of those where I bank fish.

I will leave any other kind of snake alone. I really hate those though. I have a few bad experiences with them.

Correct... Technically one person could catch all 15, or 15 different people could each catch one of the 15...

So the snake went after your frog and got hooked lol. Yea man I agree I don't like water moccasins the more dead the better! Fortunately I only see snakes at one spot that I fish at.

My best spot is at a closed down golf course and the grass in some spots is taller than me. Freaks me out walking through that stuff knowing those things are there lol

Just noticed this interesting thread. I'm in. Of course this pretty much gaurantees that I won't catch any decent fish for the month of October!

Unfortunately a lot of people have this same problem they've been saying in our last competitions

Tightlines welcome back, I have you down. Shanksmare welcome aboard. This innocent tourney will change the way you fish. For the better of course.

BTW, what did you guys think of a 12" slot minimum? As far as  competing with NE group goes, its simply compiling the biggest 15 vs their 15 for the month of October. No biggie, seems easy enough to do. I am curious though why 15?

Posted

I like the 12" minimum. I had one 12" last month(i was able to cull it) and almost felt bad counting it towards my 5.

I don't think a minimum is necessary this isn't the bass masters tournament lol

This is fun no stipulations except measure the fish and have fun.

You're right, it was passing thought. My minimum is actually a higher number, just because I know what you guys bring to the table by the end of the month. But I agree, once people see what the avg length is, the majority will use that length as their minimum.

Well since there's no min, my recent 5 fish length is at about 20 inches :occasion5:

Tomorrow I get my new trolling motor, Sunday I go floating for some monsters. Gonna be a iffy day depending on what the weather has in store for us down here this weekend. I will be frogging it HARD. Since I will be able to get around a lot faster now, hopefully this will help me cover some more areas faster.

Speaking of weather. Looks I am indoors for the rest of the day. Weather is looking pretty bad. I wanted to try out the new fluke sticks I picked up.

Well, it's my first month participating and I'm excited so I'm posting my two little 12" bass so I can say I'm on the board lol ;). We only get about 45 minutes after work on a weekday so if we don't get right on them there's not a lot of time for adjustment.

Cool, when you have a chance upload the pics with the measurements and I will put you up on the board for 24". This weather messed me up today. I will not be able to hit the water til at least Fri.

I was about to stop for a few minutes on the way home from work today. No fish started to rain so I left.

Glad you guys decided to axe the 12" min. I like the simple rules of measure/pic. Because it is what I would do anyway if (big if) I caught a fish.

Seems to be my luck lately last few trips been skunked Not even a snakehead.

I would also like to take this time to welcome aboard fishingator. She is our first lady bass angler, to join our competition.

Alright im on the board!  Was out for about an hour this evening w the frogs, got this one on the hollow body ribbit.  Had a relatively slow night though this fish was my only action all evening which was strange for this spot.  But a fish none the less and a good start with 18".

The bigger ones like the hollow body were you at the spot you told me about in the text?

Thank you!

I must admit I was not cool under pressure today lol.  I looked like a hot mess trying to take the picture of my mini's  .  At least I broke the ice.  Hopefully we will get back at it this weekend.
