Florida Bass Club October (Bragging Rights Thread)

d**n im about 10 min to late bc i think this puts me in the top 10. The frogs were absolutely on FIRE tonight.  Had 8 hits in just about an hour, unfortunately i was not on fire as i only pulled in one of them.  17" though so not bad (for some of us!)  Also noticed thatevery single one of my hits was no more than 2 or 3 feet off the shoreline.  I was literally casting on the shore parallel to me and holding my rod way out in front of me and dragging it off the same bank i was standing on.  To get a head start on LMGs idea, caught this on a ribbit bullfrog colored, no weight, and using 30# braid.

I think that puts me at 88" and bumps me to sole possession of 9th! lol might have to get out again and try to gain 2" somewhere to jump up a few spots. I think my dreams of repeating last months top 3 finish are put to rest.

Dsidle you were about 15 min behind.... LOL. No worries. You are correct, that fish you caught makes it your 5th and it moves you to 9th with 88" WTG!!

We should figure out a tie breaker lol no matter what place its for.  Maybe guy with the longest gets the win?? So say LOU has caught all 17" and Zach caught and 18" three 17s" and a 16" zach would win?? Is anybody following this lol.  Just a suggestion and if you each have a high of say 17" you just keep working your way down and if you all caught the same exact 5 fish lengths then i give up lol

We should figure out a tie breaker lol no matter what place its for.  Maybe guy with the longest gets the win?? LOL.. Dsidle I am still reading what you said over again. However, in the last 5 months that we all have been doing this we have never had a tie. Tie breaker for 10th place? For me, not a big deal. If it happens to be me and Zach, I will give it to him. Now if you're telling me tie breaker for 1st, that's a different story. We will have to come up with something if and when that ever happens. Just my humble opinion.

I suppose. Not sure how successful I will be. I will only be able to get out 4 or 5 times through the month. Freakin college... plus the waters here are crap. Pressured pretty bad and super finicky. I can't find patterns here in N.Florida. Even the gentleman in the local tackle shop have zero advise or tips to success. I find a pattern, do it next time and they are gone. Lakes here change their mind day by day. Never in my life. *sigh*. Central Florida is so much different.

Some us have been there, I don't miss it, that's for sure. Are you doing graduate or undergraduate work right now? Either way. 4-5 times a month of fishing is better than no times a month. Think it over and let us know on Fri if your in. If not, that's cool, keep on posting and following us.

If Russ joins them then there is no point in them doing a competition lmao he would post 5 fish for 125" with a 11lb big fish competition over in the first week... People will have to battle it out for second

I didn't fish while I was in college at all but if I was here in FL I might not have graduated with my Bachelors in Finance with all these fishing spots there is no way lol. In NJ I went to college in a city so there was no freshwater fishing. I lost track of my passion during those years and gained it back when I moved here.

it sounds so easy in my head lol basically you take the two people tied and list their individual fish from longest to shortest.  then you compare person As longest to person Bs longest.  if As longest fish is longer than Bs then he wins.  If they both have the same length longest individual fish then you go to fish number 2 for each person.  if these are the same then you go to their 3rd fish and so on.  the chances of 2 people catching the same exact lenght of all 5 fish have to be so extremely slim.  maybe this helps lol i just figured its something really quick that we can do to handle ties.

all of my biggest fish have been 18 and 19s. Thought I had her sunday..flipped into a beast and once we got it in the boat and it started flopping all the salad off, it was a stupid bowfin lol.
