fishingator Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 What is that a type of Halloween party?  It's a bar crawl zombie style. I like this one because it benefits the American Cancer Society. We went as a zombie queen and her court jester.  https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10104241211325321&set=a.10102111587543451.3617778.2040078&type=1&theater Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted October 26, 2013 Super User Posted October 26, 2013 Went out this evening, not the ideal times to fish but I was bored. Didn't catch anything! Maybe a cold cuz it was windy and I was in a wife beater but other than that nothing. I EVEN RESORTED TO WORMS! I threw a 10.5" ribbon tail, 6" senko, u vibe worms, and rage craws and DB craws. It was a waste of 2 hours. I met this nice little girl named Amy, at one spot, asking if I can catch a fish so she could take it home and put it in her bath tub lol. I told her I would try but it was up to the fish if they were hungry or not and I guess they weren't hungry for anything I put on the menu. I may try to go tomorrow morning but that depends on how much sleep I get tonight 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted October 26, 2013 Super User Posted October 26, 2013 Ak been like that for me all week. My buddy has only been catching from 7-8 am on shim-e-stick green pumpkin red flake. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted October 26, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 26, 2013 I just got back in from my trip and I am exhausted. Don't worry I am no where close to being a threat in the contest. LOL. We did have a lot of fun. We boated 60 fish. No big ones to brag about. Yes, it was windy, but the day was beautiful. Low 80's partly cloudy.  The glades looked normal for this time of year. Water was a little higher than normal but better than what I was expecting. We went through a lot of plastics, but the frog fishing was non-existent. There is a healthy population of fish that's for sure. My casting arm is dead, so I probably will not fish for a couple days and rest up. 2 Quote
fstr385 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Went out to lox this am. From about 730-9 little fish were avg every other cast.. which is entertaining, sept when it kills about $15 worth of worms lol. After that got a bunch of hit and miss flips and a few decent catches but other than the bowfin, biggest was 19". Didnt realize the punch baits were almost gone so ran out early. Goin to bps to now to stock up for a re do tomorrow. Quote

That's funny I picked up a pack of them on Friday lol. But I was going to try to go out early but I figured the water temps would be too cold. The other morning like I said I got 7 strikes in 20mins all I the frog but they were all bumps no commits so I chalked that up to the cold temps but idk. If I'm up early I will definitely try since your buddy had luck Quote
Super User MCS Posted October 26, 2013 Super User Posted October 26, 2013 At 5pm I did take the boys to the bluegill hole across the street. Slayed them on crappie nibbles, over a dozen in 30 minutes. Good time 1 Quote
fishingator Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 We went out for a bit back to the new area I fished Friday. I had a worm rigged weightless in redbug and I was getting topwater hits so I told my SO to get his new booyah pad crasher. He did and on the third cast he got a nice one. He is now in love with his frog lol. It was 19.5" and read 3# on the crappy lipper scale. I just got a dink. He also caught the smallest fish of the day lol. 3 Quote

I hope others play this way when they go out with people fishing. You could have said that 19.5 was yours but you DIDNT cuz that'd be unethical. If I could like your post multiple times I would, you are a good, classy, honorable woman 2 Quote

I certainly need the inches rofl. I will admit I struggled being happy for him hahaha. I told him he owed me a foot rub for catching my fish . 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted October 27, 2013 Super User Posted October 27, 2013 Tell the SO nice fish. I only used my pad crashers a couple times and missed all my strikes but like it alot, good action and durable so far. I think Pad crasher sales have doubled since this comp. they need to hire Lou and LMG as their spokes people lol. They, especially Lou, has all kinds people throwing frogs now. Dsidle is another one that comes to mind. Hahaha Quote
zack d Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Went out with Plunske yesterday for a lil while. Landed 15-20 bass 95% wacky rigged, threw ribbontails, senkos, and trickworms all t-rigged,nothing. As soon as we switched to wacky it was almost a hit per cast. Nothing too big(biggest was a lil over a lb.) But def. More activity than ive seen in awhile. Managed a 15.5" & a 13.5",both wacky rigged on gambler stickbaits. 1 Quote

This time on a wacky rigged watermelon red and green! WTH grrrr lol. This guy measured 19.5" too and the scale said 3#. We still think our scale is way off. Our new digital comes Friday. 1 Quote
Diggy Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I caught a nice amount of fish but no measurements. Tarpon were jumping and rolling in the Griffin canal. One looked like it was near 40lbs, huge. Would have been a fight. I did catch 2peas in sunrise and the male of the pair was my hardest peacock bass fight ever. Thing was a bull and it was probably 5lbs at the most. I took some pics. We used shiners trying to catch shook, tarpon and peas. The life span of them might have been the most pitiful thing ever. I'll catch some mayans next time. I caught the peas on a Walmart hair jig. Quote

Matter of fact I did catch a tarpon this morning in the inlet, guessing upwards of 40# on a DOA jerk shad on a jig head, mh spinning rod.  My friend threw his cast net maybe 7 or 8 times, couldn't get it into the net.  Finally slipped the hook which is really the way it should be, yeh they do put up a bit of a tussle.  With the exception of tossing a lure now and then in my ponds and canal I have done next to no bass fishing, considering giving it up altogether. Quote
