I stopped at this spot this morning for only 20mins around 7:20 with a white frog. I got 7 STRIKES but the weird thing is they were all bumps. I'd be moving my frog along the bank and then I'd see the fish's wake come at the from and then it would bump it or grab the legs and let go. It was weird to see this I have never had that happen, let alone 7 strikes in 20 mins. 2 big ones I could clearly see she grabbed the legs, while frog was sitting there, and then let go.

If I had those live target frogs with the treble hooks or a spook I most likely would have caught all those bumpers and nibblers lol

I use the frogs with the paddle tails so that could be why anyone else notice something like this before?

Well...I fished from 7-10 this morning. Caught two right away on a weightless 12" culprit ribbon tail black. They were still small at 15" and 14" but I still think I can use those sadly lol. I think the front shut them down because it was quiet out there. I found a new spot and caught a dink on a wacky rigged worm watermelon magic but the area looks promising. Being in a new area and fairly new to bass fishing has proven to be a challenging.

Nice work....I faced the same thing when I moved down here. It is challenging but once you figure it out it will be rewarding. Keeping at it is the only way to get better and getting through a season or two and learning the patterns in the area is what really helps.

Thanks :). I actually haven't fished a fall since I started bass fishing a year or so ago so I have a lot of learning to do!

Wait, its gonna get better in the next few months. Almost time to get Jig-gy with it!

The Tatula will be here just in time ;)

I hope so, but its not for my Jigs believe it or not. My Jig reel is my Chronarch200E7. The Tatula is gonna be used for casting light baits. I cant waste the "hopefully" better castability of the reel for pitching jigs. That would be like driving a Ferrari in stop and go traffic.

Shoot I would use my new gear for anything just to use it LOL but then again I hear you are collecting fishing gear like Jay Leno is collecting cars LMAO Mr. Bling Bling :respect-051:

Haha. Leno. I will be spooling that thing up with 10lb YoZuri and using it as much as I can around town for sure to get a good feel of it. By the time it gets to me I will be in my new place that is on a lake that is part of the C-13 canal. The extra casting distance will help to launch lures further out while I walk the banks there. Also, with an 8.1 retrieve, I can burn the bait back to me for the next cast if needed. This all reminds me that I now have to start some "re-arranging" of my rods and reels. Looks like the Super Duty is gonna get spooled with braid and mounted on a Dobyns rod for pitching purposes.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I still watch Saturday morning cartoons before work. I love me some Roadrunner and Tom and Jerry.

LMG, you're not kidding about the wind. If we had that last weekend it would have been interesting. Good luck this weekend.

Yeah. If Martin decides not to go Sunday, I may just swim around in Margate to escape the wind.

They just didn't want to commit to eating it. I've had that happen a lot. Could be because of the really cool weather the last couple of nights, they aren't as aggressive.

When that happens I'll usually follow up with a slow worm and get the fish.

Yes. A nice ribbon tail to entice them. The lighter the line and weight, the better it will be. A nice slow flowing fall will usually get them in a trance. They just have to eat it because its just too easy.

On those solo days, you may want to think about one of those mushroom anchors. I have a 10lb'r and its saved us many a time. If not your just spinning around like a leaf in a lazy river.

I guess the weater would make sense because I went to the same spot few days ago during this weather change and they were on but that was the evening so water was most likely a lot cooler than it was this morning

Way to go forum.  I followed your advice and now I get to cull another one.  Pulled this from my little pond.  Threw a rapala x-rap white around the bait schools and got this 18.5 inch-er.  Missed another probably in the same size range.
