MCS, those are some nice blue gill, they are darker up in Jax than they are down here.

It is the same one...But you should see the ones out of the pond in my neighbor hood. The bigger ones look like this

You can see stripes and the face is redish not blue....So the dark one live is not more than a couple miles from my

house where the light one lives. I don't know what is up, different strains or species :Idontknow:

Yeah man, they are here LOL....I got a fat sunfish on a rattlesnake once, I think I drug it through her bed....and the rest we catch on all sorts of things mini cranks, rooster tails, grubs, crappie nibbles, but the neighborhood pond is void of bass. The bigger ones in the ponds with bass are deffinitely harder to catch and I mostly catch them by accident. The law school had some big ones, so does that pond by the cemetery on race track. Never seen one this dark though.

Cute pic of your son, MCS. The bluegill he is holding looks exactly like the ones down here. The other one that you caught I have only seen in pics such as yours and from up North.

Funny, I caught a Mayan Cichlid last night on the Flappin Shad. Mind you that I rig it with a 5/0 EWG hook, so the fact that it was able to get that big bait and hook in its mouth was pretty unbelievable to me. Them pan fish are mighty aggressive!

Wardens Rooster Tails! Gets them all the time. I love catching them on my UL setup with a Rooster Tail and 4# test line. Almost, and I mean ALMOST, better than Bass fishing. Its just really fun when the Bass don't want to play nice.

Unfortunately alligators don't count lol.

Lost a frog hook to a nice sized gator. Had no idea it was just hanging out in the pads didn't even see it til it took the frog. I not only lost my HOOK, down to only 2 maybe 3, as my last black frog but I lost a lot of braided line on my new reel (figures I only got 1 spool with line on it the other is still in the plastic lol)

That was my one and only bite since I only had my patriarch reel with me. I may go back out later but that means I need to go to OP to get me more frogs

Farthest I have only caught small ones from the limited access to the other 2. But a bunch of my fish from out earlier comps came from there. I just recently went back and caught a few.

I know they are in there, I rarely fish it....It used to be weeds to the top, is it still?

Last time I went it was back in may or june and before that it was a long while ago.

All the way to the left closest to the road is weeded up but that side has limited access. So the pond is t really affected and since I've been fishing there I have only caught a few from the left and that's by casting parallel to the shore line. The rest of it is open the only thing is there's a lot of vegetation underwater but about 2-3 feet if that of water over it. These a lot of pockets surprisingly back then I was all soft worms I just started the frogs since I been on them. I had luck with magnum worms 10.5", senkos, trick, rage craws. I wasn't fishing u vibes back then but like I said they love the soft plastic out tere in trying to turn em on to the frog

Went out today and tried some lures LMG showed me last Sunday... Spook and Chug Bug, the bite was on, got 7-8 bass, but all dinks, maybe 3 or 4 were 15-16 inches. Good news is bite is getting better though!
