First of all, I love my Revos and Chronarchs but last year I bought 2 of the $99.00 Lews Speed Spools just to see how they perform. I was impressed last year when I used them a few times. Well, today I was out with a buddy fishing in about 15 mile an hour winds, not super bad but still windy. I happened to bring with me one of the speed spools that was set up with a 1/2 ounce Bomber Fat Free shad crankbait. When I was casting into the wind, I was absolutely launching some long very long casts without any backlashes. Sure, I had everything set just right but I am totally shocked about how well the Lews performs, especially at that price range. I must have made over 100 casts with it today and all it did was launch my crankbait as far as I can with my revos and chronarchs. We will see about the longevity of these reels over time but I can't say enough good things about my experience so far. Crazy for $99.00.

I love these reels...I find myself reaching for my speed spool more than my abu's these days...I will only be buying speed spools going forward...you can't beat this reel for the price.

Yes it is an amazing little reel! I was launching a 3/8 top water the other day. Smooth to, buy not as smooth as my TP

As far as durability goes, I have had one Lew's reel for 15 years now. It is the old classic with high speed retrieve. I recently came across another at a thrift store for 10.00 where the worm gear on the level wind needed to be replaced. They are my go-to reels. I have no plans to buy another reel, owning enough to fill up the walls in my office. They last.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I LOVE my lews MG. I plan on purchasing a Lews Tourney Pro and a BB1 very soon. Also switching to a Lews Tourney HS spinning reel. I dont see myself ever going away from Lews!
