Super User roadwarrior Posted September 30, 2013 Super User Posted September 30, 2013 http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/mega-tube-soft-plastic/ Caught my first monster on this bait today rigged on a 1/2 oz ShakE2. Although the green fish seem to like the tube, me thinks the little brown fish will like it even more! Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted September 30, 2013 Super User Posted September 30, 2013 I can't get the wind to die down enough around here to even try and throw a tube. Which color tube did you use? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 30, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 30, 2013 Green Pumpkin/ Orange 1 Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted September 30, 2013 Super User Posted September 30, 2013 Those are the same two I got. Hopefully I will get the chance these days off. Quote
BuffaloBass716 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 How do you like to rig them on the shakE2? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 1, 2013 The weight on the head, tentacles up. Bobby designed the bait with a shallow slot to line up the hook. It works PERFECTLY! 1 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 1, 2013 Super User Posted October 1, 2013 The Brown truck is bringing me some Wednesday and I'm going fishing all day fri-sun! Quote

BuffaloBass716 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I'm guessing there is room for the hook to come through the plastic properly because it looks like there is no room for the fish to get hooked? Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted October 2, 2013 Super User Posted October 2, 2013 I'm guessing there is room for the hook to come through the plastic properly because it looks like there is no room for the fish to get hooked?] The tube is very soft and hollow. It compresses extremely flat with the hook shaft when you get a bite. You don't even have to texpose the hook point as the tube has a recess it sits in and is basically weedless. 1 Quote

Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 2, 2013 Super User Posted October 2, 2013 I'd go for that if it had a Megastrike tube hanging from its beak. I see "monster," I want a picture. 1 Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Let me tell ya -I was out the other day and I got some good ones on the green pumpkin tube -I was skipping them under docks and trees with a 3/16 shakey2 head-Just felt the weght and bam set the hook. Nice three and four pounders. gotta love it Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 2, 2013 Super User Posted October 2, 2013 Been in a funk lately, I'd gladly take a day like that Bobby. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 2, 2013 So.....no pics? No, but I have an idea... Next spring maybe you and I can be partners for at least a day. I'll do all the fishing and try to snag some goodens, bigguns or good ole bigguns. If we have any luck you will be in charge of the camera and the net. You can hold the fish and weigh it, too! You bring the beer from PA and I will continuously test it to make sure it doesn't spoil so none will go to waste. Don't thank me now. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 2, 2013 Super User Posted October 2, 2013 Look, I know you can catch fish. I've seen your leatherbound book, so I know there is at least a chance of you taking a picture and not melting. IIRC, we shared a boat on a pretty tough day on Guntersville. That didnt turn out too well for either of us. Missing trolling motor prop ring a bell? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 2, 2013 Yes sir, it does. The fall/ winter smallmouth season is about to get underway around here. I hope to post some quality pictures soon. The biggest issue for me taking pictures on the ponds is that I am usually there alone. I have taken a couple with the fish on the grass, but that just doesn't do the fish justice. However, you have successfully busted my chops. The next decent fish will be posted. -Kent p.s. Have you ever caught a fish on that bluegill I sent you? 1 Quote
