I'm sure some of you have used this, but I found a roll of little Velcro strips in the garage a couple weeks ago. First thing I thought of was to use it to hold that annoying little drop shot weight from wrapping around my rod a bunch of times.  I'm not sure where to buy them, maybe the hardware section of Wal-Mart? There is a lot of strips to a roll and I am sure they are cheap.  Trim about half or more off (they are about 6 inches long) and they work great!! Hope this helps someone!!

I just put the hook through the eye of the weight and then put the hook into the hook holder on my rod like normal. Keeps the weight from swinging around and wrapping around the rod.

I use a hair band that I "borrowed" from my girlfriend.  Just wrap it around the butt grip, and slide the sinker under when you store your rods.

I've found that the elastic hair band works best for me.

i use a small velcro strip for my carolina rigs, its about .5" wide and 1.5" long, i put the velcro strip around my sinker and rod and secure it. the velcro keeps the carolina rig weight from banging up against the rod blank when doing 60mph across the lake or driving, works well!

Silver Thread Fluro has a band around the spool. I tie a knot to make a small loop and then slide over handle near bottom. Cut off a little on the short end so that I have an easy grab...works for me.
