Super User roadwarrior Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 Who woulda thunk it? Today's rout against the Giants was impressive. Looking forward to their match-up with Denver. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 I'm at the game now, WOW! Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 Chiefs will need more offense against Denver, but I can't wait to see how their defense holds up against Payton. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 I like any team that takes Denver!!! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 The chief's defense is for real. It also doesn't hurt two of their wins came against teams Andy Reid played against for 14 seasons...and the eagles are hanging in there with the broncos and actually outplaying them on pretty much all counts except special teams. Missourifishin Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Go Chiefs! Jamaal Charles is a great player. The Giants made it tough for him to run today, but he is a weapon as a receiver too. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 I really hope the Walrus does well in KC and wins a superbowl at some point as long as it is against the Eagles. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 Well every team can get lucky. KC has as much chance of winning the superbowl as Arsenal FC has of winning the Premier League. Ain't neither gonna happen. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 29, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 29, 2013 Welll.... two things: 1. The Chiefs are a much improved team from last year. They made a lot of roster changes in the off season for the better. Nobody should be surprised they're doing better. Are they a playoff team? Not yet, but they're on their way to becoming one. 2. They've had a very soft schedule so far. The rest of the season is going to be tough for them. I'd be impressed if they end up 8-8 this year. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 If you want to talk about schedule the broncos have had all cupcakes too. I don't think they will have a problem making the playoffs as a wild card team this year. Quote

The Brewers have an equivalent chance of winning the world series? I dunno. Boise State has an equivalent chance of winning the BCS? Quote

I don't think they will have a problem making the playoffs as a wild card team this year. True. They've had a very soft schedule, and will continue to have one through the first half of the season. And yet everyone wants to crown them superbowl champs already. We'll know how good they really are when they start playing stronger teams later this year. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 30, 2013 Global Moderator Posted September 30, 2013 They look like they could really be a contender with a couple more key players, could be really interesting next year. The Donkeys and Manning are going to bury us though I'm afraid. If we finish 8-8 we'll be doing pretty good but if they keep forcing turnovers and not giving the ball away like they did today they could screw around and beat most anyone. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted October 1, 2013 Super User Posted October 1, 2013 There is always a team EVERY year that does this I believe everyone was riding the Cardinals and the Bills those years they started strong what happened? #2 the REAL MEGATRON QBs for the BRONCOS HE IS AN ALIEN CREATED MACHINE!!! That kick off return for a TD by McCluster looked like something out of the Madden video game. He hit every button on the controller in that return it was beautiful to see Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted October 1, 2013 Super User Posted October 1, 2013 At the end of the day it comes down to the QB. Alex Smith can't go deep and in games, especially later and in play offs, it's going to require that. What happens when they face good QBs an offenses like the Broncos, Patriots, if they get to Super Bowl say they run into the Saints or Packers (I won't throw my Eagles in there but we will be lol). But facing those 4 QBs I don't see Alex Smith being able to keep up and you need to throw an take chances when you are down Smit does a VERY good job of avoiding taking chances Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted October 1, 2013 Super User Posted October 1, 2013 Another thing they didn't play ANYBODY good in their first 4 games. They played teams that have potential Eagles, Giants, Cowboys but are notoriously known for being extremely inconsistent. I'm from Jacksonville, not a fan of team I just feel bad for their fans, wins against that youth football team don't count! So the underlying factor CHEIFS FANS you played 1 game against a youth football team! Reid and that staff came from Philly, Reid has owned NFC East more so early than late, so you didn't do anything lol. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 1, 2013 Seems to me that any 4-0 team has shown some panache. I think the fact that every team has a chance on their best day is why we continue to root for our boys even in down years. If the game was just played on paper, fast forward to the Super Bowl, declare Denver the winner and award the trophy. Heck, let's do this retroactive and give the Broncos last year's title, too. Every unbaised fan knows the best team last year was not the Ravens! Funny how things shake out when it's mano a mano. 1 Quote

Every unbaised fan knows the best team last year was not the Ravens! Funny how things shake out when it's mano a mano. No doubt, the Ravens were extremely fortunate to walk away with a win over Denver in the playoffs last year. A couple of boneheaded plays by Denver gave a game away that they were easily winning. I think Denver was the best team last year. I think Denver is the best team this year. However, I am a Chief's fan and am very happy with the way the season has begun. Time will tell the tale on whether this team is for real but they are definitely improved, especially on the defensive side of the ball which may be more about the defensive coordinator than the personnel. I believe they returned 8 starters on defense but Sutton's defensive schemes seem to work for these guys. Alex Smith isn't a world beater as a quarterback, but he does protect the ball and manage the game well so we are improved there as well. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 14, 2013 Global Moderator Posted October 14, 2013 6-0 They actually have a good shot at staying undefeated until they meet the Broncos if their defense keeps playing well and the offense keeps doing just enough to win games. 1 Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Yet they almost lost to my lowly Raiders. I mean we are such the great team this year. If we had a decent O line, Pryor would have destroyed them. Shame they won't make it past Denver. Probably get beaten by SD too. Quote

Because they spanked the raiders pretty good, pryor might have destroyed them if he would have completed more passes to his own team than their guys LOL Quote

Because they spanked the raiders pretty good, pryor might have destroyed them if he would have completed more passes to his own team than their guys LOL It was 14-7 midway through the fourth quarter. Then our offensive offense self destructed. Pryor was sacked and picked a ton. The Chiefs never capitalized on all those turnovers. I'm not gonna say my Raiders are a great team this year by any means. However, they hung on til the last 6 or 7 minutes with them. I blame a certain kicker for the loss too. Seabas has missed more field goals this year, then he has in the last four combined. Quote

I just had to give you a hard time about them raiders LOL....So who played a worse game versus the worst teams in the league, the Chiefs or the Broncos. Broncos let the Jags hang really close, and if Blackmon wasn't helping the gamblers out it woulda been within 1 score BWAHAHAHA 1 Quote
