Texas bassman Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Fished one today. No fish but it does run true casts a mile and has a wide wobble to it. Yall have any luck on them?? Quote
Mr. Bassin II Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I have had great success with them. Have been using the 5/8 oz model for the past few weeks around timber and submerged grass for the last five trips I've been on. Put about 60 in the boat on this lure alone. The five foot running depth is just right for the bass moving up shallow for the their fall feeding pattern. Have to agree with the line tie design running true and the way the line tie is able to float allows for a unique wobble as well. All that matters to me is that the bass some to love them. Quote
xxjace Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I've been wanting to try these ..I went to my local tackle shop and they were sold out of about every color..couldn't find any colors left that I wanted.. Quote
BenB54 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Caught a few the other day on the 03 size in the bluegill pattern. I haven't liked storm products in the past, but this is a quality crankbait. Change the hooks out and you're ready to go. Quote

I actually think the stock hooks on the arashis are a lot better than on most stock cranks Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 Haven't caught anything on it but it does cast a mile and runs nice. Hoping to get one more true test this next weekend. Quote
Dyerbassman Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Looked at them at BPS but didn't pull the trigger. Sure are pretty though! Maybe in the spring I'll get a few. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted September 29, 2013 Super User Posted September 29, 2013 Storm uses VMC hooks. The stock hooks in all the new Storm stuff are fantastic hooks. Thanks for the update about these. I'm headed to Academy later today and will pick up a couple. 1 Quote
Bass Junkie Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Just for the record, Lucky Craft uses VMC hooks on their products. I would be completely confident in the Arashi's stock hooks Quote
travis23 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I will say this, the 03 worked great for me today (shad colors). I really liked it. I have been having many problems with the KVD square bills running WAAAAAY off. I have bought a lot in the past couple of months and I feel like I wasted money because after a couple of hours they really mess up. So with that said, I fished for a few hours today and had no problems with the 03 size running straight. By the way...Anyone else have this problem with the KVD's? Quote

I really haven't had any issues with them at all. Check this video out though. Most cranks can be tuned to run true really easy. 1 Quote
travis23 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Yeah, I have seen that video. Tried it. Didn't work. I really like and back Strike King products, but I am debating on whether to buy another one or not (Square bills). But hey, maybe its me, not the lure! Quote
Texas bassman Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Fished the arashi today again still no luck. I guess the weather change messed up my day but it is a quality square bill. I've never had a problem with kvd 1.5 I caught my profile picture bass on a 1.5 with stock hooks. Quote

Contact Mark Copley at this link : http://www.strikeking.com/contact-us/13-corporate/2-mark-Copley They are supposed to run true. Mark is good about getting back to customers, but he takes a few days to do it. He will make it right. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted September 30, 2013 Super User Posted September 30, 2013 If you can't get it to run true after tuning it, chances are the internal weigh broke free from it's fixed position. While not a common problem, it does happen, especially if you have been slapping your bait hard on the water to get grass off it. Quote
mattk22 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 i am going to sell most of my squarebills and move to these. they are just a fantastic bait. i love the 03 model, and the colors look great in the water. and the hooks are super sticky. i wish they were a little cheaper, but you are getting quality at that price so i can't complain to much. jdl2425 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I picked one of these up at BPS a week ago. I have yet to use it because I'm afraid of getting snagged and losing $9. But I will say that it is a beautiful crankbait for the price and the hooks are nice. Quote
