First off I hate these types of threads but had to on this one.

Caught her in the rain at a spot where I lost the fish of my life, easily double her size!

I was fishing with member Bass Czar, who also was with me and saw the first monster fish I hooked into but got snagged in pads and snapped off my mono. Has been 30lb braid ever since that day.

I cast out to the same exact patch of pads where I hooked this ones older bigger sister, was using a black frog instead of a swim bait that big sis took.  I reel it in and she slams it I didn't see her good at first just felt her.  She stayed deep and I Czar is about 30yds away  I yell "I GOT HER!!!" He runs over as I'm fighting her and deja vu... she runs into a patch of pads and I had a horrible flash back of her older sister lol.  Now she's in the pads hung up and you could see her tail and some body. After a minute or two I get her free and Czar takes her out the water.

Snap a few pictures, measure her, weigh her and then threw her back.  Now I know the scale doesn't lie I live by that, but we both swear it did today lol, so I want to get some peoples take on this.

Thanks for the input

That's A Chunk.IM Thinking Atleast 6 + 8 It's So Hard To Judge In Pictures What Did Your Scale Say

The mouth doesn't look big enough to be 7-8 lbs.

I'm thinkin' 4.5 - 5lbs.

Isn't guessing her weight a bit of an insult to that fine bass ?  :laugh5:  ~ -  Very Nice fish regardless of the weight.

and btw - sooner or later some enterprising individual will put a scale on a phone.

Do you guys think the hook would interfere with texting ?

He did say he weighed and measured it.  The scale could be off but a tape is always accurate, chart weight most likely a good call.  Photos do not indicate size, fully extended arm and thrust out shoulder make for the near perfect photo op.

no...unless our man here is an oompa loompa. She looks filled out. Mouth the size of a typical 6, but i am guessing it is a longer fish due to Florida and it is filled out. Have to be between 6-7.5. Curious to hear what she went. Great fish regardless.

She went 22" and 6.10 tested scale with 20lb weight and it read 19lbs 9oz weight probably isn't exactly 20lbs.

Judging from the guys fist to the bass mouth.  It's heavier than 4.5-5lb.  I'm going with you on this because the belly is pretty full.   I say it's also a 6 - 7.5lb.  Not quite an 8+ lber.

6 pounds 10 ounces or 6.1 pounds....it makes a difference because if you are decimal that 19.9 would be almost 20, close enough in my book but if it is 19 pounds 9 ounces it if off by almost a half pound. A 20 pound weight wouldn't be THAT much off. If it is a hlaf pound off you might want to buy a new scale or check the batteries. Did you have a second scale with yall?
