Anybody have thoughts on why Lew's has two "workhorse" reels? I'm looking to pick one of these up, and I'm wondering which one is better. They seem really similar. Price doesn't really concern me, i'm mainly wondering why Lew's has two reels so similar, and which one you guys would recommend.

the Tournament MG is less refined and not the same reel, the Super Duty is Much smoother and more powerful, has 11 bearings, the soft touch finish which is a little more durable than the standard Tournament has, its a better choice then the MG and it is in the same frame size.

I bought a MG when they first came out, I did like it a lot at first.  Now I still use it, so don't go flaming on me all you Lews Lovers, but it spends a lot more time on the bench than on the playing field now.  Although I've only played with one and they weren't out at the time, the Super Duty seems much nicer and like money well spent if your limiting yourself to the two.

Thanks guys! Def helps me make a decision--in all honesty I'll probably just go with the tourney pro. I have one already and love it, and can get it cheaper than the super duty!

i have a few super duty's and love them. i have fished a bunch of reels and only found one i like better, the BB-s.  if you want some super duty or BB-1 let me know.  i bought a whole lot off of a guy the other week and am selling some.

I appreciate it! I really wish I could take one or two of those off your hands, but I just purchased a kayak and I'm pretty tapped out right now on my fishing budget
