If you're near a dicks that is clearing their fishing stuff to make room for hunting, go now! Here are just a few of my buys:

Fat Free Shad Cranks 1.99 for the bigger models (forget the size) they were marked 2.99

Eagle claw 6/0 1/8 oz swimbait hooks 1.99

Yum craw bugs and wooly hawgtails .97! I don't usually buy yum but for .97 you can't beat it.

Booyah pro boo jigs .97 again I don't usually buy these but can't beat the price.

All the clearance stuff I found was around half less then what it stated on the red ticket.

Yes! The only bad thing is almost all the strike king hard baits are gone and there were no strike king or netbaits soft plastics (rage tail was gone too). I actually went in for rage craws but there's always the state college dicks

Went the other day. It was cleaned out. I was looking for the 3" wooly hog tails and tiny brush hogs for pond fishing and found alot of empty spaces. Always a day late and way more than a dollar short.

Yeah I wish the hawgtails were smaller (i found the 4.5 inch) but I can always cut the back end off a bit ha ha

I was really excited about the cranks! I hate buying them at 6 to 8 dollars a piece so 2 bucks was a steal. They even had good colors like their sexy shad imitator and the green shad and the one with the purple top (i forget the names ha)

You should try going right before they do the annual inventory. They'll clear out stuff like crazy just to get it out of the store.

i've never been to one since the closest one is about 45 minutes from my house.  how is their selection of stuff compared to places like walmart and sports authority?  it sounds like it carries alot more stuff.

last winter around January i went to my local gander mtn and found strike king hardbaits for $1.95 a peice and bandit/ norman/bomber cranks for 2.95 and SK 3x plastics for $1.95 a piece. i spent $50 alone on SK hardbaits and around $30 each on the norman/bandit/bomber cranks and SK 3x plastics

Dicks has alot more than walmart (mine do anyway). Wal marts clearance is usually cheaper and they happen more often. I think dicks exclusive stuff (like the strike king spinnerbaits) are of higher quality than wal marts exclusives. I don't have any sports authorities near me though...

There's about four Dick's Sporting Goods I see in my travels throughout South Jersey and fishing inventory varies from store to store. You need to be right there when the deals start 'cause the good stuff goes in a flash.

Our Wally Worlds here are completely useless for fishing.
