Hey everyone. Anybody have any experience fixing a crack in a fiberglas bass boat? I have a crack 48 inches long and abouit 5 inches wide. Any and all help woud certainly be appreciated.

Where is it at on the hull?

on the bottom of the hull under one of the trailer bunks. waiting for insurance to c what they will pay.

That is a long wide crack in fiberglass.  I would have that professionally done especially if its in the glass and not the gel coat.

You may be better off getting the insurance check and buying a new hull and transferring your motor etc over to a new hull, that's a bad spot to have a crack. Good luck and keep us in the loop!

By new hull you mean just the boat?

Yep, with the crack you are describing with out a pic to look at you may be just asking for issues later on down the road. Can you post a pic of your boat?

Insurance came through. They totalled her. I took the check and am having her fixed.  Still a good boat. Thanks for all the help.
