bassmasster Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 what do u guys think is a great all around weather/season lure? Quote
J_pontius Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I think a rattle trap or a 1/4 oz white and yellow spinner bait is a good all around lure. Probalby the spinner because of it's versatility and lack of hang ups. Quote
zara spook Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 there are three must-haves I keep around for any occassion. 1. Spinnerbait...preferably in white 2. Husky jerk/ X-rap...just love the shake of these lures 3. and of course a spook Quote
Fish Man Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 i know i talk bout em all the time but a blue fox or rooster tail in line spinner ;D Quote
Baconstrip Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Spinners and jigs. I live in southern Indiana, so I get the full range of seasons here. Those are the 2 that work year round for me. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted March 29, 2007 Super User Posted March 29, 2007 T-rigged creatures/craws and jerkbaits, preferably japanese brands. Quote
MyKeyBe Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 One word. Curly_Tail_Grubs Pretty cool how I linked that into one word huh? ;D Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 29, 2007 Super User Posted March 29, 2007 In my area it would be a Rat-l-trap, or a jig. Quote
Valascus Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 A jig...period end of story. There are very few baits that you can catch fish at any depth with, in any season, any type of body of water, any water clarity, from the bank or boat, and fish in as many different presentations as you can a jig. I have been trying my best to make great strides in learning the patience necessary and as many techniques I can learn using a jig. I think anyone who does not do this is doing themselves a great dis-service. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 29, 2007 Super User Posted March 29, 2007 Soft plastics: #1 Fat Ika #2 6" Senko #3 Micro Munch Tackle El Gordo tube Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Jerkbaits work year round for me. Quote
Shakes Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Spinnerbait - White/Chartruese. Blades - #2 silver willow, #4 gold willow. Best overall lure out there. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 If I had to be stuck with one bait all year, I'll take a jig. Brad Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 31, 2007 Super User Posted March 31, 2007 #1 = Jig #2 = 4" senko I guess some of you live in the deep south and can get away with spinnerbaits year round? Up north it gets a little colder and considering that I broke up ice on the lake with my boat my second trip out I do not think a topwater would work for some reason? Allen Quote
