JD96 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Was at the local tackle shop yesterday and noticed a big ol football head shaky head with a thicker hook, bought one. But it doesn't have a label or brand just in a baggy. Stands a 7" trick worm up extremely well, and ball head shaky heads tend to fall over easily. It's at least a half oz rig. Who makes these? Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Could be a local guy that pours jigheads. We got a few here that pours and sells in the local mom and pops shop Quote
Amarley Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 YUM makes good ones. Also a local tackle company called Sneed Products makes a good jig and oversized worm that has been winning local tourneys for the past few years. http://www.sneedproducts.com/ Their big shaky heads are 20% off this month. Super User iabass8 Posted September 25, 2013 Super User Posted September 25, 2013 i've really caught on lately to the heavier shakey heads. for the longest time i would stick to the standard 1/8oz or 3/16 oz on light line. the past year has really been great after trying 3/8 and 1/2 oz shakey heads /w larger biffle bugs worms and craws on heavy fluorocarbon. Super User Fishes in trees Posted September 26, 2013 Super User Posted September 26, 2013 The YUM Pumpkin'Ed works ok. The BPS Head works ok. I like the Chompers Shaky Pro jigheads in 3/8 and 1/2 oz. If I am fishing around rocks, I like the Larew Biffle head. I'll fish these on 14 to 17 lb fluorocarbon line. Quote

Thanks for the tip, placed an order with them to sample some of their products. I like the fact that they offer a lot of their plastics in a floating formula. Quote
