In my area of NC, the wildlife website says that archery season ends November 1, but one of my buddies told me that you can still use a bow all the way through the entire season. Does anyone know how to answer this question for me? Im leaning toward him not knowing what he's talkin about. Thanks guys.

If its the same as Alabama. You can all the way till the end of gun season.

Yes, you can hunt with your archery equipment during both muzzleloader and gun season.  This is stated on page 55 of the regulation digest under the heading "Weapons and Dogs".  Have fun!

Some one asked me the same thing about NY. I'm gonna ask you the same thing I asked him...Why?!? I understand the whole wanting a challenge part but if your area allows a gun why would you limit yourself to the 40yds of a bow at 9/10 times a deer running Mach 5 because everyone in the county is blasting everything that moves. Here in NY by 10am every deer and every person hunter or not knows its opening day because it sounds like a warzone outside. Deer get super skittish and on edge after that first Saturday of gun season.

If you have an area that you know the orange army isn't hunting, the deer will be there once the blasting begins. I have a couple of small pieces of property that I exclusively bow hunt just because of that reason, and them areas fill up with deer once the guns start going off. Once the deer hit these areas the only thing that you'll do by using a gun is just push the deer further. I generally let these areas sit until a couple days into gun season to insure the deer are there and then it's on. The deer know where the safety is at, and thats where they'll head once the woods become a sea of orange. Just remember that in most states you have to wear orange while hunting with a bow during gun or muzzleloader season. I dont know about NC but here in MD we have a 50 yard rule for bow hunting in some counties as where guns have a 150 yard rule, so in short you can creep a lot closer to a structure with a bow. Which in turn will allow you to hunt the areas that the deer will start using once the woods get packed with gun hunters. Good luck and be safe

Thanks for the reply guys!! The land i hunt on with a rifle is about a 45 minute drive from where i live. The spot i bow hunt down here doesnt have enough land to use a gun on, so i figured id rifle hunt on weekend, and bow hunt here during the week.
