tritondriver Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 we can give you a thousand ideas on what to use and confuse the heck out of ya. do a search for dobyns, loomis, and st.croix rods, they all have their rods listed with recommended baits for the weight and tip action of their rods, this will give u a great starting point. but more important is learning to properly setup and use the baitcaster. do a search on you tube and watch the videsos and read how to properly setup the caster as it needs to be adjusted for each type bait. if you dont do that no matter what bait you use you wont be fishing much cause of the time fixin backlashes. practice tool...get a 5 gallon bucket and start by pitchin a jig into it..start at few away then move farther away as the days go by..
