Big Bass Chaser Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I use the Megastrike attractant on jigs and unscented plastics, I also use Gulp attractant. I feel Megastrike is good and lasts a long time, Gulp is great and lasts a very short time. So if I am soaking overnight I will use Gulp, however if I am applying it right before I cast, I use Megastrike. I have not used any of your soft plastics, I currently use Berkely, Zoom, Reaction Innovations, and Jackall (because the Flickshake worm is awesome). I generally try new things out where people have good days fishing in similar settings online or from local word of mouth. I have never used your hardbaits either.
Primus Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Bobby, I'm impressed that you care enough about your products that your asking for feedback whether positive or negative. I've always used Smelly Jelly because lIke a previous poster said it's all about getting them to hang on a little longer, when I run low on scent I'm going to give Megastrike a shot.
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 I just want to hear whats anglers have to say! i will be working all fall and winter on new concept lures and tackle.
Super User Lund Explorer Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 I'm still interested in your line of soft plastics. However, when I look at your website, it doesn't give a breakdown of sizes, color, etc. Will an update be coming soon? Also, will dealer locator be up and running by then as well? Just an idea.... What about a sampler? Say one or two of each style, same color. Would amount to maybe 15-20 pieces. Not sure how much of a pain it would be for packaging, but I'd pay to see all of them up close and personal. By now, you should be feeling a slight tap, tap, tap....Set the Hook! ;D
zero Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 i did use and i have caught like 3 fish less than unscented or yum or coffee scents i wonder why? but in stained and really murky that when megastrike shines for me i stopped using in clear water/4feet of visibility
bigtimfish Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I do not use megastrike. The reason is because the products are not available at my local stores. If megastrike were available in Academy and Gander Mtn I would use it all of the time. Especially the mega bug.
shawnmc Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I use Megastrike on already unscented plastics. A black Cavitron buzzbait has been my go to fish catcher this summer. Dicks Sporting Goods somewhat close to me used to carry them but I did not see any the last two times I was in there. Thats ok because most of my shopping is done at Tackle Warehouse and just today I recieved two more Cavitrons.
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 This is all great data- Its great to hear the good comments but more importantly I want to hear the other types of input. These are potential customers we are not reaching and I want to know why. So if we can accommodate their needs and wants -we can capture more market share. We also want to work on any negative features of our products. Thank you
Super User Catt Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 Bobby in both of your thread's you refer to anglers being close minded simply because they do not want to use his products. This is the exact reason I'll not use your products nor will I ever suggest them to some one else. In both threads you state "I develop products that are different . Maybe too different for some fishermen.". Bobby dude outside of your attractant I see nothing new and innovating. I received dozen of PMs from others who feel the same but don't want the confrontation but I'll gladly stand for what I believe right or wrong.
TourPT Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I use the Megastrike attractant every time I go fishing of which is 3 to 4 times a week. Not only does the stuff work IMO, it's also the best bang for the buck for a tube last for months.
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 I have a few cavitrons and a tube of megastrike. I've used the megastrike without luck so far but I don't take it out every time. I've had the same tube for about 1 1/2 years and it's over half full. I don't use alot of scents, I've had the same two bottles of jjs for 2 years. I don't fish the cavitrons much either but I rarely fish a buzzbait. I am interested in the plastics though.
Nice_Bass Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Ronald Martin No hate at all, but this is the funniest thing I have seen on here in awhile! ;D ;D ;D ;D I might make it my new screen name, just to confuse you. Cute, maybe you two should get a room?
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 Bobby in both of your thread's you refer to anglers being close minded simply because they do not want to use his products. This is the exact reason I'll not use your products nor will I ever suggest them to some one else. You mean this? As fishermen and as fishing tackle manufacturers the last thing we should do is close our minds. I develope products that are different . Maybe too different for some fishermen. There are some fishemen that never change their tactics-techniques or tackle. I find with that is they always seem to have the same results. By opening their minds to different concepts/lures ,they can have a whole arsenal of new techniques and thus different results. Some can be better but some can be worse. The reason again for this post is to ask why arent fishermen using megastrike products. I don't read it that way at all. I take it as refering to all products. I think the next post in the thread clears that up for you. As stated, if an angler is not open to try new products and possibly see the subtleties certain baits offer weather Megastrikes or others then how will they ever know if they will out produce what they are currently using. Strange to hear you so against change when two years ago you were singing the praises of Gene Larew products exclusively and now its Team Ragetail too. If you never tried a Rage product, you would not know how much you like or dislike them. All he is saying is how do you know until you try? You don't.
Super User Catt Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got" Results for 2010 with non-Megastrike products (all certified weights) Bass over 5 lbs: 73 Bass over 6 lbs: 53 Bass over 7 lbs: 22 Bass over 8 lbs: 7 Bass over 9 lbs: 3 Bass over 10 lbs. 0 You will become a better angler by first understanding the relationship between bass and their prey. Second is learning how to identify structure, read structure, and then fish it properly. Third is by putting one and two together according to daily weather patterns. SPEEDBEAD, first I've used Gene Larew products for 30+ yrs, secondly I've added RageTail, Rattlehead, NetBait, Jewel's Pro Spider Jig, Buckeye Magnum Series Spot Remover and yes finally some of G-Man's jigs. Catt close minded sure he is
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 Yeah man, I get it. You have some of the best numbers, I see that. You win. I am just curious as to why add all those products while writing off the Megastrike products without trying them? You have gone out of your way to demonstrate that you are not closed-minded, so I can only surmise that you have some specific reason to not try the products?
Super User Catt Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 RageTail: the action of this is a product is like no other NetBait: again a product with action like no other Jewel's Pro Spider Jig: was sent to me by another member & as a finesse jig it fits perfectly into my arsenal. Buckeye Magnum Series Spot Remover: I hate small thin wire hooks on most jig heads this one does not have one. G-Man's jigs: I'm in the process of evaluating how well these jigs handle thick vegetation Megastrike: the attractant gets my attention, I might try the buzz bait if it came in 1/2oz, but the others product offer nothing unique or out of the ordinary

That is the original intent of the thread and it echoes what others have said. Nowhere before this post did you give any criteria that you may try the product, only alluding to the fact that you WOULDN'T try the products. Mission accomplished.
Super User J Francho Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 I'd like an easier cap on Megastrike. Hard to start the threads when your in a hurry, and you DO NOT want to leave it on the deck uncapped.

Mission not accomplished I still don't see a 1/2 oz buzz bait so I guess I stuck with Boogerman Racket Buzz. I've not been on Toledo in 3-4 month, those are weak numbers Jack (fishfardollars) Yates, Matt Fly, Randall, Steve (Big-O) Parks, George Welcome, Tom Reddington & many other have way better stats than those.
BadKarma42 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Wow, that armistace lasted about 4 seconds. Its like a tennis match.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 25, 2010 Super User Posted August 25, 2010 Right over your head... Feedback is what the man needed, not your stats. You gave feedback. You would consider the products if a 1/2oz buzzbait were offered. Get it now? :) ;) ;) ;) ;)

No I would not consider the "products" if a 1/2 oz buzz was offered, I would only consider the buzz only.

No I would not consider the "products" if a 1/2 oz buzz was offered, I would only consider the buzz only. The buzzbait (if it were made) is a PRODUCT. Made by Megastrike. By asking for feedback as to what people want and/or what might make people try Megastrike product(s), he is looking to potentially provide those things. What part of this are you not grasping? ;) ;) ;) ;)
