Bobby Uhrig Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 Guys -All of the opinions are being recorded and addresses. Please keep them coming.
Syppy Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I bought and have been playing around with one tube of the attractant based on the endorsements I've seen here on bassresource, and it seems to do pretty good (I'm not totally sold on the smelly working for fish, but I would give it a try). Other than that most of not using any of the other products is that I don't see/hear of them. No tackle places where I impulse buy baits have I seen them stocked, and I'm not really an online tackle buyer. For me, seeing and "touching" them is kinda important before I go trying to get them into my tackle box.
Nice_Bass Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 LMAO, who is Ronald Martin? Could not just read into bad typing huh?
David Rangel Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I don't use any megastrike product, basically 'cause down here I don't know if there's a distributor of those products !!!! David
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 i don't use any Megastrike products. as for your Megastrike scent , i don't use it , smelled it once and wasn't impressed by the smell , tried Pro Cure and will use nothing else . Pro Cure has many different scents that have a certain applications . if Megastrike would make different scents (trout , crawfish , shad ,etc..) and had the actual smell and taste of said scents i would consider using it , but as it is , Pro cure is , to me , the best scent out on the market !!!!
Super User Catt Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 Why I do not use Megastrike products! "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got" I'm happy with the results of the products I currently use
Boogey Man Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Megastrike is the only attractant I use now. No spraying, no dipping, no mess. Do I believe any attractant will cause a bass to swim over and eat it? No, but I use it because I believe it makes the bass hang on to the lure a little longer giving me more time for the hookset. Cavitron buzzbait are great as well. The only problem I had was if I don't get them on top quickly they tend to dive the first six to eight inches on the retrieve. I bent the head down just a little and problem solved. The Evo II and Shakey heads are good. The only drawbacks are the design of the heads tend to hang up more around cover and bigger rocks. I suppose it's a trade off for the lure standing in an upright position. I tend to use them more in open water/slicker bottoms. Overall, good products BobbyÂ
OneUp Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I'll have to give some of the attractant a try the next time I place an order with ***...
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 i don't use any Megastrike products. as for your Megastrike scent , i don't use it , smelled it once and wasn't impressed by the smell Whether I'm impressed or not is of no value, it's whether the fish is impressed. I do not use any scent to try and bolster size or numbers and I'm assuming they work. To me it's like an athlete using performance enhancing drugs. There is enough technology out there already for me, better rods and reels, better lines, hooks, better and more realistic looking lures, fish finders and underwater cameras..........how much of an edge does one need?

As many as I can get. I like to catch fish, period. PED's? You really went there?  ;D
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 As fishermen and as fishing tackle manufacturers the last thing we should do is close our minds. I develope products that are different . Maybe too different for some fishermen. There are some fishemen that never change their tactics-techniques or tackle. I find with that is they always seem to have the same results. By opening their minds to different concepts/lures ,they can have a whole arsenal of new techniques and thus different results. Some can be better but some can be worse. The reason again for this post is to ask why arent fishermen using megastrike products.
Super User Catt Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 As fisherman on certain subjects being close minded is not bad as some pretend, when it comes to reels I like Shimano so in my mind it's closed subject. I highly doubt using a Shimano is in any way limiting my catching. The unwillingness to use your lures does not mean they are ineffective, it's just means what you offer shows no potential of out preforming what I already use.
senko_77 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Ronald Martin No hate at all, but this is the funniest thing I have seen on here in awhile! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 Ronald Martin No hate at all, but this is the funniest thing I have seen on here in awhile! ;D ;D ;D ;D I might make it my new screen name, just to confuse you.Â
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 As stated, if an angler is not open to try new products and possibly see the subtleties certain baits offer weather Megastrikes or others then how will they ever know if they will out produce what they are currently using. Confidence is one thing I understand but not trying just not to try it is another. Again I am gathering the answers to questions and thats the whole idea of this thread.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 Hey Catt, he's got a point there. If you do what you've always done, maybe you'll never know your potential. There is a new one for you to quote.Â
TopherG Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 As some of the other posts stated I only buy tackle that I am replacing online. I really like to see and hold what I am getting if I am trying something new. So my question is are there any brick and mortar places to get your products?(Dick's, Gander Mountain, Wal-Mart, BPS, ect.) Thanks Chris
Skunked in DR Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I use the attractant, mostly as a lube on skirted baits and on unscented soft plastics. I have tried Cavitron buzzbaits, I like them, but what buzzbait fishing I do I prefer 1/2 oz. As others have already said, if you make a 1/2oz you'll have a customer for life. Haven't tried the Evo Jigs and shakey heads, they just aren't widely available around here. Haven't tried the soft plastics yet, but will pick some up when I start my tackle buying over the winter.
Super User Catt Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 By the same token maybe y'all need to quite being closed minded & try what others are using Megastrike is not the magic lure company and neither is Rage Tail or any other company for that matter. What makes fishing so satisfying is that a multitude of products will work an the same day on the same body of water. Y'all know me I'll gladly match yearly stats with any bodies!
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 By the same token maybe y'all need to quite being closed minded & try what others are using You're the one who said he was unwilling to try different things because what you do works. Take your own advice. Why I do not use Megastrike products!"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got" I'm happy with the results of the products I currently use Just sayin...
Super User Hammer 4 Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 I just noticed..........I lost my tube of Megastrike.. > Oh well, I need to pick up some stuff anyways, I'll grab a new one. 8-)
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 That is my whole point of this thread-To learn and change-Evolve or become extict is my saying.. I learned a lot- Anglers want 1/2 oz Cavitrons-ect. Dont worry I am taking it all in . I have used and still use all other brands. I have been around this sport my whole life and there are some things that I felt I needed to chage-I did and I will keep doing it. i didnt want this to become a ticking match like some people make most threads out to be.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 I drink a lot of water. I like to pee. What can I say?Â
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 At some point, something that is part of your "primary arsenal" was something you tried for THE VERY FIRST TIME. I have a pretty set bag of tricks, but trying out some new things keeps it interesting. Good post, Bobby.
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 1. 1/2 oz Cavitron...okay 2. More distribution...always working on it 3. Components...no issues 4. Design...it is what it is 5. New products...Bingo! They are out or coming out 6. How 'bout a BR discount to get the ball rolling?
