What is the best balancing rod for this spinning reel? I have either a 25 or 30 sized pflueger President spinning reel.

I bought a diawa laguna rod for it when I didn't have any money. But this rod does not balance well at all with reel.

Budget is under $300.

I wouldn't get caught up with balance. To me it's almost irrelevant. If I'm casting or reeling I it will never balance. It will only truly balance while dead sticking.

That said if your looking at St Croix the LTB is more tip heavy than the extreme

I'd find a nice 7'ML rod and call it a day!

I think that balancing a spinning rod setup is very important. If you search for it a lot of good info comes up. Bill

As long as it's comfortable the balance for me does not have to be perfect, using lures of different weights it's going to change anyway.  I actually find a bit tip heavy loads the rod up better.

So many different guys have so many different ideas about what is and what ain't a balanced rig it ain't funny.   If a rod feels good to you, then it is balanced ok for you.  When you go to buy a new rod, take your reel with you and try it on different rods.  If the store won't let you do that then go to another store.

For me, balance is very important. I also don't use a lot of techniques like other guys, primarily worm fishing, TX, wacky, split shot. Some jigging.

I want a tip light rod for everything I do. Lifting that extra weight when jigging a worm, etc., over and over and over = more pain. So one of the ways to manage that for me is lighter equipment, light tipped rods.

I'm currently using a balancer from BPS on my St. Croix Premier. It adds weight overall, but makes it tip manageable. Prefer a lighter setup when I can afford one.
