Jon G Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Just curious what everyones go to bait was. Mine is the same as every season. The Jig haha. Quote
Arv Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I almost always start with a lipless crank. I love catching them that way. 1 Quote
bgraham91 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 X2 on the lipless cranks, I love the red eye shad and l like luck craft pointers towards the end of fall Quote
Bass Pro1 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I usually like to go with a Fluke or Swimming Senko. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 The same lures I use the rest of the year. Location the key. 1 Quote
dreamertino Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 X3 on the lipless take a ratl trap and parallel the bank I have been killing them 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 This year I think it will be a spinnerbait, or a rat-l-trap. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 Lipless crankbaits first. Then whatever I think will work depending on the variables that have to be taken into consideration. Quote
CPBassFishing Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Swimbait- I prefer going for the big girls' attention with a natural bait rather than using a lipless crank. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 Lipless , spinners, jigs , swimbaits , soft plastics , jerk baits when the bite is tough Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 The same lures I fish the rest of the year, the locations change. Quote
Lip 'em! Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I wish I had the amount of faith in lipless cranks as yall...I can't catch a thing on them no matter what time of the year. Spinnerbaits, square bills, and jigs for me! Quote
tholmes Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 The same lures I fish the rest of the year, the locations change. ^ This. THe bass are still feeding on the same things that they've been eating for the rest of the year, they're just in different locations. Tom Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted September 23, 2013 Super User Posted September 23, 2013 As has been said location is the key. I also don't change too much in the fall. Probably my favorite big fish bait this time of year is a chatterbait. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I have been doing well with a suspendind squarebill lately. I cover alot of ground as the fish are starting to feed up and pretty aggressive. Quote
aceman387 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I love bottom contact fishing with a high end rod, i find it meditating. My favorite fall lure is a 5/16 oz black & blue jig with a zoom u vibe craw trailer. Quote
Swampstud Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Man I really need to learn the lipless crank as I cant catch squat with em. I however love my spinnerbaits, and now jerkbaits. 1 Quote
5fishlimit Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 The same lures I use the rest of the year. Location the key. x2 Quote
olegs Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I mostly use for searching the lipless crank. When I find a fish I use Senko/Fat Ika or/and texas rigged worms or creature. This fall I want to learn a jig. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted September 26, 2013 Super User Posted September 26, 2013 I haven't fished really heavy in the fall till now. So far my bomber crankbaits are working and the mepps spinner minnow. In the past fall in late November the YUM Money minnow gets there attention. I use the slow dying minnow twitch while using the yum money minnow. I twitch it and let it go any way it wants too slowly until it stops, then repeat. Moving it slow is the key after all its dying. Siebert Outdoors Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Same as the rest of the year. A jig. Quote
das028 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 A jig, plain and simple. At my home lake they seem to be hitting them when I'm yo-yo'ing Quote
Super User bigbill Posted September 26, 2013 Super User Posted September 26, 2013 Well since I have plenty of jigs now I'll have to try them too. I can't wait till it's really cold and maybe snowing to go fishing when the ice is still off. November seems to be my best time. Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted September 26, 2013 Super User Posted September 26, 2013 I've had great success with Slug-gos. The 4" seems to always slay and you can maintain that profile and action with the Slug-go SS whiptails if you want something bigger without changing the action with the different profile 4.5"+ ers. I like that I can dial in the sink with different hooks, and I can slow down the action to almost nothing if I'm working a cover area or piece of structure. You can dance that thing there for a half hour f you want and I think that becomes more important as the water cools. It seems to always work and I am never without Slug-gos in my kit! Quote
Missourifishin Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I've been doing well on shallow diving cranks. Quote
