Tyler j Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I am thinking about trying this reel. Has anyone tried it yet and can tell me how well it casts and how smooth the drag is.I will be using this for squarebill and DT 10 . Does it preform well with big line like 17 mono for what we call thundersticking and can it preform with light shad raps or do I need to rethink my selection trying to stay around 100 Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted September 24, 2013 Super User Posted September 24, 2013 I don't have an answer, but I was just wondering why no one is responding to this young man's question. Surely someone could answer. Hootie Quote
Koofy Smacker Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Ive never used that reel however I currently am using a Curado E5 for doing exactly what your talking and I have found for squarebills I have to reel a million miles an hour to get it to do what I want. (Ripping it then a pause). If thats how you like to fish squares than I would opt for a 6.4:1 and just slow down with your DT10's. I am currently revamping my lineup to throw in a higher gear ratio for my shallow cranks 1 Quote
Ojurb Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 So are the Orras last generation Revos with different colors? Quote
berkleyfan81 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I saw the orra sx winch combo at Gander Mtn yesterday , but I went to BPS the day before and felt the Revo winch . All I have to say is that they are not the same , I would step it up an go with the revo winch if you have the money amazon usually has them on sale . I just bought one last night , can't wait for it to get here . $165.53 price + shipping ( $5.49) = $171.02 gift card for $11.08 = $159.94 . They Orra sx and Orra sx Winch felt pretty good but if you want eva knobs go with Revo , the orra winch had big oversize original knobs that I didn't like but the Revo winch knob felt pretty good. But that my opinion . Quote
