I just bought some Zoom Ultra Vibe and Ol'Monster worms. Also bought a Johnson Silver Minnow. Has anybody had any experience with these? I guess I should have asked this before I bought them. :)

Ultra vibes and Ol Monsters are some of the best worms Zoom makes.  You'll like them.  The Silver Minnow is a classic design.  It still produces just as much today as it did in years past.

Zoom Plastics.....any good

Does a 10 lb bag of flour make a really big biscuit...?

I have had a lot of success over the past few years using the Zoom 6" Lizards in Green or Pumpkin. The largemouth absolutely love them and it's a really fun way to fish!

Sure they make good plastics, Ol' monster produce well some times the biggest of the day, I had used the Ultra vibe mag speed worm and is a good producer, as well all the lizards from 4" to 8" brush hogs, particularly the babies, Trick and finesse worms,I love the Big Dead Ringer is excellent worm, until today I don't know a bad zoom lure.

Triton21, I know , I was just there today buying some. "So many worms so little time." :)

I used to fish Johnson silver spoon 20 years ago when I lived in the Northeast, they can be deadly dragged over lilly pad and the dropped on slack line so it flutters down when you pull it over the edge of the pads.  Be sure to put a white Uncle Josh pork trailer on it.  It's a good big bass lure when they are in the pads.  Nothing like seeing the water bulging 10 feet away as a good bass starts to head for that spoon.

With so many other options , it surprises me that Zoom

plastics remain so popular. I don't own any and haven't

fished one in more than a decade.

Yeah, they'll catch you fish, but no, they are not the best plastics company.

I'm not, they are very productive, readily available, have great action, reasonably priced soft plastics that are offered in a wide variety of colors.

I also use some soft baits from Yamamoto, Strike King, Reaction Innovations, Roboworm to name a few but there will always be a place on my boat for Zoom.

Some of my favorite Zoom baits...

Super Fluke

Ultravibe Speed Craw

U tail Worm

Trick Worm

Centipede

Finnesse Worm

Baby Brush Hog

Those dead ringers are pretty good also, eh Eric? :)

airborne_angler,

The 10" ol monster and 8" dead ringer are my two worm fishing staples. I'll have a pack of each on the deck with me when fishing worms. The dead ringer has a larger profile with ridges. It displaces more water and has a slower sink rate. The ol monster has a sleeker profile and a faster sink rate. I let the fish tell me which one they prefer, but between those two I can usually get something going.

I'd say half the fish I've got over 4lbs this year have been on the ol monster.

I grew up on Zoom plastics and have found no reason to change.  I use some Strike King Rage products and some Big Bite Baits, but other than that, its always Zoom.

And the Ol' Monster is my personal favorite! :)

Yup. All of that. Especially the "reasonably priced" bit.

And the Ultra-Vibe Speed Craw bit :).

Was Soylent Green people? 8-)

The Ol' Monster has got to be the best ten inch worm on the market.  Use Okeechobee Craw color and nothing will keep the bass off this worm.  I will say this about the Ultra-Vibe worm though, I have had trouble getting the tail to spin consistently.

and fluke...

you'll be addicted

they always produce and hard to beat for the price.
