JD96 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I can't be the only fisherman who likes America's favorite plant. Where y'all from and what are ya dippin? Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 The Heart of Dixie. Occasionally Copenhagen. Unless its a special occasion, then its a hand twisted "hog tail". Also known as rope tobacco. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 I quit a number of years ago. I stil miss it when I'm fishing or hunting but I figured I would miss my family more. 4 Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 Abused it a bit when I played college ball. No longer. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 Grizzly straight is my preference. but I dipped Copenhagen winter green for while.... I stopped dipping that bc they always seemed to leave a nice pinch out.. all my Grizz straight cans are packed to the brim and all the way around... love playing baseball while a lip in and fishing as well!! I live in upstate, NY Quote

Sfritr Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Used to do a can a day. For those looking for a healthy alternative try Grinds. Www.grinds.com It is flavored coffee grinds in dip pouches like bandits. They come n three favors mocha, chocolate mint, and cinnamon roll. Each pouch is like a 1/4 cup of expresso. I have found that it satisfies the oral habit of dip and Gives you a caffeine fix in the process. Grinds were designed by two ex minor league ball players and were on shark tank. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. 1 Quote

GeorgiaBassBros Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I love my Grizzly Extra long cut natural and Copenhagen long cut. I just picked up a can of Copenhagen black today and love it. Definitely recommend it. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 21, 2013 Super User Posted September 21, 2013 Copenhagen black?? What's that? Oh yeah I forgot to ask your guys how much is a tin where your from? A tin of grizz is 5 bucks for me.. but I get tubs of stokers for 20.. which is 10 tins in extra long cut fantastic flavor last for hours but its rough on your gums... that's why I only get it a tub here and there Quote
fadetoblack21 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I'm in the long and painful process of quitting right now. But my preference was always Grizzly wintergreen or Grizzly premium natural long cut 1900 (poor mans cope). Grizzly here in mid Missouri only runs $2 so it was a cheap habit. After watching my dad die from esophageal cancer due to his heavy smoking I decided it was time to give it up. I want to be around to see my daughter graduate college, get married, and possibly enjoy the grand kids she produces some day. . . Quote
pbizzle Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 My old wrestling coach started dipping in 7th grade, a can a day by 9th grade, 4 cans by his senior year. Said that he once went through two cans during his high school baseball game. He ended up getting some gum disease and having to have all of the teeth in the front of his bottom jaw replaced by the time he was 20, and he's only 29 now. Quote
pbizzle Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I can't be the only fisherman who likes America's favorite plant. I'm pretty sure America's favorite plant is no longer tobacco. 1 Quote
aquaholic Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I never was a big dipper. A bunch of people in my family do but I just never got the hang of it. I was constantly spitting as where they didnt have to spit every 10 seconds. I was a big fan of the cigs. Ive cut my line multiple times on accident because of it. Quote
basshole8190 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I'm partial to copenhagen straight as its only 3 bucks a can here or a pouch of taylors pride Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 21, 2013 Global Moderator Posted September 21, 2013 5 bucks a day buys a lot of baits a month. I've never understood the appeal of it I guess. Paying to rot your teeth and potentially give yourself gum or throat cancer?? I've never tried it so maybe I'm missing something but I've had 2 people I knew die in the last few years from cancer as a direct result of chewing, one of them was just a few years older than me and left behind a wife and 4 kids, so no plans to ever try the stuff. Super User Oregon Native Posted September 21, 2013 Super User Posted September 21, 2013 Daughter got oral cancer and after having to watch her go through that and see it return three times was awfull. She asked me to quit chewin so did. Been bout eight years now and can say I finally don't really miss it. Seeing it on the sides of walls on most fast food drive throughs doesn't do much for me either!! Tight Lines Quote

Its a seasonal dip here in georgia. I pay 2.59 for grizzly and 3.69 for cope unless i got walmart where it 2.43 for cope Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted September 22, 2013 Super User Posted September 22, 2013 I have been an on and off dipper since I was 16, I am 37 now, and really need to knock it off again, hopefully for good this time. I have gone as long as two years without it before, but always fall back into it. I am not going to promote or brag about what kind of dip I use, it's a disgusting, nasty habit that I am too weak to walk away from. 2 Quote

Wait....aren't you the one who posted up about the bass raider and mentioned you are a junior in high school? I always thought you had to be 18 to buy the stuff so unless you failed a few times technically what you are doing is illegal even though i know it is a common practice..... Quote
preach4bass Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I would be surprised if someone who started a thread about dipping WASN'T under the age of 18. 2 Quote

He also straight up said that he's 16. I'm 14 and don't do anything but I have friends who dip. The way I see it, it's better them doing that then something hard. Quote
