dcrent Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 What is the best rod action for braided lines? (xfast, fast, medium, etc) Quote
motodmast Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 there is no best action for braid, it works well on almost 100% of rods Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 Yep can be used with any action. I have it on moderate, mod/fast, fast, exta fast rods Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted September 20, 2013 Super User Posted September 20, 2013 There's no such thing as "the best" of anything. What I think is the best is different than what someone else thinks is the best. Any rod action or power will work well with braid. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted September 21, 2013 Super User Posted September 21, 2013 The rod depends on the application you are going to use. In some techniques you need some stretch to secure a hookset. For example, spinnerbaiting, and crankbaiting quickly comes to mind. With braids zero stretch properties you will pull the hook out if you do not give the fish sufficient time to take the bait. The right rod will make up for braids zero stretch. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted September 21, 2013 Super User Posted September 21, 2013 Medium fast oe 1 Quote
Craiger12 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 What is the best rod action for braided lines? (xfast, fast, medium, etc) What do you plan on throwing with the rod? As stated above, there is no single best answer, but knowing what you plan to use it for would be helpful. Quote
Capt.Bob Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 lure and type of technique you are using mater more for the type and rod action you need, line type is a minimal consideration for determining action, in most cases the technique will determine the rod power and action. Quote
